I'm done now too, quite enjoyed it overall. I'm not convinced that the lives/character swap system completely works but at least it's interesting. Frustrating when you might as well kill two more characters to start afresh though. A solid [6] from me, it's pretty short.
So this is really quite a bit better in Nightmare mode. Some new routes available and you have to use the characters much more strategically.
Also @retroking1981 in terms of what those other items do - the big white hearts increase your max health and the jar type thing (like on level 2) increases your max weapon capacity. I think there's also one that increases your attack somewhere too.
I noticed there was a gap on the first stage that made no sense at the time. I doubt I'll replay, there are one or two sections I don't fancy revisiting. Glad I played it though.
This really is quite clever. The unlockable modes after 'Normal' are much more than just extra difficulty levels.
Finished Nightmare mode - already a fairly different experience - and wasn't sure what to do next, so I looked up the other possibilities online. It never occured to me that in the normal run you could
Spoiler:
choose to kill the other characters you meet instead of talking to them. So effectively you can do a Zangetsu only run with some added powers. This is now something more straightforward and arcadey (old school Ninja Gaiden even), and you can see why they designed the first character that way. Finishing it like this then unlocks the 3rd mode.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is out now on most things and next week on Switch.
Just done the first hour and it looks promising. If anything, it might end up being like SotN in particular, because it seems a bit of a mess (a good thing in my book). Some things seem very carefully drawn and detailed, while others are pretty basic or feel a little unfinished. I also had it crash on me once already, unfortunately, and have had issues with music cutting in and out (not good).
We'll see how it goes. I've a feeling it'll turn out just fine.
It's good. I'm not far into it, but there's a lot to it, and from early conversations with supporting characters, it seems there will be at least a good ending, and a bad ending.
13 future DLC will be free, and Shovel Knight will be a playable character.
I think it's just what I needed (just what I needed)
Skerret's posting is ok to trip balls to and read just to experience the ambience but don't expect any content. "I'm jealous of sucking major dick!"~ Kernowgaz
So apparently you really need to make sure you download the patch before starting. On the unpatched version there's a bug that can halt your progress a few hours in, forcing you to restart.
