That guy spawns if the temple is damaged, by either your wand or the burrowing worms. He used to turn up all the time and was a major run ruiner, he's much rarer now, thankfully. He's a total dick.
Ah, dang. I loaded up my game and it said I'd angered the gods even though I hadn't moved! I'm guessing something happened with the update and my save file. A shame because that green bullet wand in my first gif was a killing machine!
The guys who are doing the (well increasingly less relevant to) spelunky podcast - it’s called spelunky showlike - are doing a series specifically on Noita.
I'm surprised there's not more chat about Noita in general, I think it's incredible, and the physics engine feels revolutionary. For me, it's Chinese Checkers to Spelunky's Chess.
It’s not properly released yet - is that true?- and is going to come onto consoles soon. I must say I don’t personally like any sort of early access because I feel there’s a risk the thing I like, and I have spent time working at, will become deleted.
It's early access but pretty darn polished. They're releasing constant updates and it's all by guys that have released games before. An indie supergroup almost. I think it'll get to a completed stage eventually. It's well worth it even in its current state. Plays like a finished game really.
Aye, it's early access but very polished and feels complete. I've completed it six or so times now, with six completely different approaches and I've run into zero bugs or crashes (just the occasional rigid body physics glitch or slowdown, and I do mean occasional, perhaps once for every ten hours play or so).
The updates are regular and interesting, but rarely game-changing (barring mod-support, the game is now fully and easily moddable). A lot of the updates are around balancing and in my opinion they've all been positives (it was a bit too hard at first, now it's a bit more forgiving, but still difficult. Mods essentially allow you to set your own difficulty though).
Ultimately, it's wonderful at the moment, and worth every penny. I personally enjoy seeing the progress they are making but it was 90% of where it is today when it launched. As Shabby says, they are like a supergroup and they know exactly what they want this game to be.
It has 11,500 reviews on Steam, averaging out at Overwhelmingly Positive. No word on consoles but I'd happily buy it again just to support them. I even bought the soundtrack and that's not usually the way I roll.
