I'll be about today, I've been missing this and have kinda been inspired by the new Hermitcraft season. I did load in last week for a quick look around and was very impressed with Dante's ice storage.
Port Stormy is now protected by the enchanted statue of a legendary skeleton warrior. His trident only has Channeling though so if any baddies out there could limit their attacks to during a thunderstorm that'd be great.
I was conflicted about that. Went for end rods as they're the only things that let me stick to the same colour scheme as the in-game trident (plus they glow).
Would really like to see lightning rods in action though.
Spent a couple of hours in the snowy mine looking for geodes last night with no luck. Once I'd given up I jumped into the ocean to watch the adorable axolotls adorably murder the ocean life when I spotted a cluster of strange dark blocks underwater. After mining one I discovered it was smooth basalt, and below that was calcite, and below that... Amethyst! Geode discovered.
So yeah, swimming around the ocean and looking for dark clusters of basalt is probably the easiest way to find those things.
Just off the tip of the little island chain that extends from the flower forest biome towards the snowy biome. A hundred or so blocks up the coast from the snowy mine, maybe?
I've built a dirt platform with a ladder down to it. Haven't mined much, and haven't touched the buds that sprout crystals as they can't be harvested even with silk touch afaik. Should be a cool little crystal farm, but will require afk'ing I think.
Strange goings-on with the Realm last night. I logged off after the world failed to load when I was heading back to my base after a building session. Just logged back in and the Realm is about an hour or so behind. Lost a bit of progress, but nothing that can't be redone.
Tree farming at your base. I logged out, gave it 10 mins and loaded back and it seemed fine. Lost all the wood I'd been farming though, and half of the rebuild progress.
Been on for probably two hours today and all I've done is re-do what I'd already done.
Finally finished my second major project on the server. My empire is growing! Rivertown (I know, but I've also got Port Stormy so bad names are gonna be my thing on this server) is fully populated by Minecraft's most heinous denizen - the Villager.
It was originally a standard Minecraft plains village, but I removed every existing block and rebuilt the entire thing, as well as landscaping the ground, building a fully detailed mine, and adding a fortified hill house.
The town walls are accessible by watchtowers and are fully walkable, it's also surrounded by flower fields, and has a couple of farms, a campsite, a small fishing village, and a river trading post in the vicinity. It's connected by both river and road to Port Stormy, a well as to NoFace's, Dante's and the starting village.
My first time using End blocks (and calcite and deepslate for that matter) in a survival build thanks to some inspiration from Instagram. Kinda surprised how much I like that roof colour.
Top work. That you get to look over the axolotl pool from your balcony is magic.
I built a simple diagonal bridge from my windmill to the inn this morning. Seriously, next time I say I'm gonna build diagonally just slap me or something. It takes five times longer than normal as I'm always placing blocks in the wrong place!
I've also updated the detailed map with all the above work.
