So on the 29th of March, myself and mrs reg are heading down to London, ostensibly to see Suede at the Alexandra Palace on the 30th.
We are staying until the Monday (1st April) so what we want to do is hit up the best food joints in London over those 3-4 days. Londoners - I need help to put together an itinerary for these days of food locations. Meat Liquor is already on the menu, and we want to hit a Tonkotsu place obv coz that's in at the minute. Anyway, where are the VITAL places to go?
Marcus wareing at the Berkley hotel. Hawksmoore for some steaks. Hit up yauatcha (sp) for tea. Zuma for some cheap but tastey nip. Erm hmmm, red dog saloon in hoxton square for a devastator burger.
http://www.benihana.co.uk/ - One of those Japanese joints where you have the cook right in front of you. Them mofos' are funny, and the food is great. : )
It's probably a better look if you go with a party of 4 or more people.
http://www.belgo-restaurants.co.uk/ - Went there a few years back... Being in London, you'll want either the one in Camden (a good place to visit if you haven't been), or Convent Garden (which is the one I went to). The food is good. Different, but familiar enough. Nice atmosphere... The beef carbonnade is highly recommended...
Fucking hell... I sound like you and Nick!
I'd take Nick's advice over mine in a flash though, but those are two ponciest places I can ever remember going to.

Hakasan, Nobu, dean st townhouse, clos magoire, joe Allens, sushi samba, tower 42, oxo, hix, inamo. They are all pricey but awesome. Joe Allens is my personal favourite in a price vs atmosphere and quality of food.
Yoshino mentioned by brooks is great for takeaway but not that amazing eating in compared to the places I've mentioned imo.
If you can be more precise I can be more helpful. In bethnal green you should head to white chapel st instead of brick lane.

Yashin (just off Kensington High Road) is my favour sushi place in London, and you don't have to book that far ahead to get a table (you can also sit at the Chef's table which is a good laugh), can be quite pricey, would suggest going for the 8, 12 or 15 piece deals.
The places Gonzo's mentioned Relais de Venise and Bodeans, are both great eats and decent value and have the added bonus of being not too far away (both have branches in the City), but they won't be open much at the weekend.
Would echo the above thoughts with regards to not bothering with Brick Lane if it's decent quality you're after....same goes for China Town which again has little substance.
Cubana by Waterloo, has some great value cocktails and cracking central american cuisine, decently priced.
For a healthy brunch / lunch when you're in central, heading to The Scandinavian Kitchen in Fitzrovia is also worth a shout.
EDIT: Â Also, how could I forget...literally my favourite restaurant in London:
Great Vietnamese restaurant. Â Some of the best food I've ever had and great value (its also in East London, not far from you)....would suggest the following from the menu:
1) Â Crispy Squid and ask for the purple basil sauce to go with it
2) Â Banh tom - King prawn in a Fried Sweet potato rusti style thing
3) Â Slow cooked pork belly
Then go for pretty much anything else off the menu...you won't go wrong. Â Been there more times than I can remember and even with 5 people there drinking a decent amount of Alchohol, we still haven't broken a tonne yet.
Afterwards, there are some decent pubs in the area. Â Pub in the Park (London Fields) has some decent guest ales, as does The Dove, on Broadway Market...also has the added benefit of a decent amount of character and less scenesters.
Cubana by lower marsh which android mentioned is good.
There is an amazing French restaurant on bethnal green road. It's near shoreditch station and a stones throw from a graff shop called chrome and black. It's swanky but worth it. Also in shoreditch is The Rivington Bar and Grill. Was my fav for years. Don't go to Eyre. They are near. You should also go to the bagel place at the top of brick lane for the salt need sandwich for lunch. It's about the best fiver you can spend.
