It just all seems so real now and I've never even been to a wedding before, I was in a children's home when my mum and dad got married.
My dad's long since passed who would have been my rock thru this, and mu mum can't travel or attend because she has been in hospital over Xmas with neumonia and 100% Air.
Hopefully my little sister or brother is gonna let her watch it all via mobile video.
I get to see my wee brother and sister though for the first time since my dad passed so that's gonna be emotional.
(I always cry like a baby when they leave me).
Sorry for messing thread up just getting it all out in the hope I can calm down and get my head together.
As Pop says, you only have to do a speech if you want. Traditionally you just have to say how amazing your wife is, and say thank you to everyone else. (And don't do what I did, which is think "I'm good at speeches, I don't need to prepare anything, I'll just wing it"...and then forget to thank the bride's parents. So, yeah, if you do give a speech, it's a good idea to write a few reminders down just in case...)
Stuff will go wrong, it does at every wedding, so don't worry about it. Each mini disaster (we had loads) is just a good story to tell after the event.
Enjoy yourselves, and forget everyone else, as the whole thing is literally about you two.
Biggest disaster at ours was somebody’s dog running away in the middle of the reception/party. I found him though, snuffling around a barn full of cattle.
Biggest disaster at my first wedding deserves a trigger warning, so I’m putting in spoiler tags.
Spoiler:
Finding out just beforehand that the chauffeur had recently sexually assaulted my best man (who was a woman). The fucker got away with it in the end too because the court decided it was he said/she said with no corroborating evidence.
Best of luck tomorrow mate!
I'm sure it'll be great and be a day to remember.
Had a bloody lovely day when we got married.
Elm and his lovely wife came down from Scotland to join us and then Verecocha and his wonderful wife drove all the way down from Huddersfield to celebrate with us in the evening.
It was just magical.
The three of us wore Destiny guardian badges on our suits
Not everything is The Best or Shit. Theres many levels between that, lets just enjoy stuff.
