...and because I love this, there are some extra bits too:
Rough estimate of hours spent playing videogames (not including the handful I played but didn't finish): 718hrs 45mins
Which equates to an average of just over 3.5hrs per game.
Longest game completed: Grounded - Xbox, or Demon's Tilt - Switch (both 20ish hours)
Shortest game completed: Virtua Fighter II - Mega Drive (12 minutes)
Best new games of the year: Poinpy, Olli Olli World, Rogue Legacy 2, Infernax, Shovel Knight Dig, Lil Gator Game, Tunic, Return to Monkey Island, TMNT: Shredder's Revenge, SIFU.
Best games I caught up on from other years: Returnal, One Finger Death Punch 2, Just Shapes & Beats, Stanley Parable (Ultra Deluxe), Welcome to Elk, Axiom Verge, Demon's Tilt, Astrobot: Astro's Playroom, Ghosts 'n Goblins: Resurrection, Kena: Bridge of Spirits.
Worst new game: Deathrun TV - Switch (runners up: Somerville - Xbox Series S, Shredders - Xbox Series S)
Sexiest graphics: Steel Assault (runners up: Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course, Battle Axe, Trek to Yomi)
Best music: Axiom Verge (runners up: Nobody Saves the World, Final Vendetta, Grounded)
Best overall sound design: Returnal
Biggest Disappointment: Cursed to Golf
Nicest Surprise: Islets
Best DLC: Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course.
And because Oli piqued my interest a week ago, I worked out what I spent on games in 2022:
£513 on digital indies
£202 on physical media (£299 including Switch games bought for Tilly)
So an average of roughly £60 p/m, which is twice as much as I thought I'd been spending (more if you include my ongoing Game Pass sub and three months of PS Extra).
I can't think of any other categories so I think that's it.

It's hard not to be impressed with how much beefier this is than the original. It now almost feels like the first game was the prototype, and this is the fully formed vision. And it's considerably better for it, with more variety and twists on the roguelite formula, an endless drip feed of features, and more ingenious design spiralled inside its procedural dungeons. It's still, however, a bit of a pain in the arse. It likes a cheap shot, with mobs ambushing you as you flick to the next screen, barely visible traps, and missile lobbing bastards chucking stuff at you from just out of sight. Also, maybe there's a little to much to upgrade and unlock, meaning any currency you gather is absorbed very quickly, and permanent advancement becomes absurdly gradual. Fiddling with the details of the difficulty level to suit is an option, but that equally feels like cover for a challenge curve that's too jagged by default. In some ways, then, this is one of the most complete action-platform roguelite experiences around, but that doesn't mean it's consistently enjoyable.

Haven't locked the layout before. Does the map show up when you go back in?
