So another year draws to a close at The Bear & Badger.
In the wake of the fallout from The Next Gen Wars it's been a year when sadly we've seen many people leave, but on a more positive note many of the old faces from years gone by have made a very welcome return.
Above all else, somehow in our little corner of the internet we continue to endure.
It's miraculous really that we're still here, especially since this coming summer will be the tenth anniversary of The Maroon Room back at EDGE.
In that time we've grown together as a little community. That's why we're still here, because ultimately this place and the people who frequent it, whether we care to admit it or not, has a special place in our hearts. That's something frequently forgotten but always worth celebrating.
Over the years as we've got to know one and other we've laughed and cried, debated and argued, and then generally laughed some more.
This place really is rather special and you are all wonderful people in your own way.
People have grown up here. Some have married, some have had families, others have suffered terrible losses, but always we've pulled together and the forum has always been here as a place to rant as the world goes to shit around us.
So here it is, Merry Christmas, hopefully everybody's having fun, but hey, even if you're not that's alright, because there's alway somebody here to listen.
It's a most wonderful time of the year, even for the cynics amongst us it's hard not to see the magic in other peoples eyes as presents are opened and turkey dinners are ruined.
2015 is just around the corner, and hopefully we'll all still be here this time next year raising a glass to whatever you choose to believe in.
I seriously love your end of year specifying. There's no other place I'd rather be and no other place I've ever been.
Cheers to all of us cuntsbadgers!
Merry Christmas badgers, nice post G. Whatever you have or don't have, whoever you agree or don't agree with, wherever you are or wished you were, take care of yourself and whoever around you.
Ahhhh what a softy and I thought there was only stone in that heart.
I used to frequent the EDGE forum many moons ago, though mainly as a lurker and was an avid EDGE subscriber owning every copy from issue one up until about 5 years ago.
My love for gaming waned for quite a few years, but stumbling across this forum rekindled a lot of my gaming passion. Yes the next generation isn't yet what it should be, but at least I'm comfortable in the knowledge that I'm not the only one who thinks that way.
This forum has also highlighted games that I may have ignored and have enjoyed. And for that I that you all.
Eh you lot eh giz a kiss I fuckin love you guys and the couple of girls (holla) on here. Like, I may one line the ting out the place, but you lot, you've fucking tugged at me heart at times, and made me laugh like a lunatic, and treated me right (I'll never forget the Christmas I got Far Cry 3 ) and I know we have spats and I can be a dick (no u mate) but seriously, Merry Christmas you utterly lovely goldblum of badgers.
Seriously though, Merry Christmas to all badgers, this place is special, it's hard to fathom where the years go, but this place seems to stay relatively eternal.
Merry bladdy Christmas. Just got up to put beef joint in slow cooker only to find it's still frozen solid! Even though it's been 'defrosting' for 2 solid days, good job I've got a back up one!
