Let's get hyperrrruuuu. Just under 3 weeks till we return. Episode names below, spoilered because some clearly give away where we are going - especially episode 2.
Spoiler:
1. My Struggle
2. Home Again
3. Mulder and Scully Meet the Were-monster
4. Babylon
5. Founders Mutation
6. My Struggle II
Two episodes (first and last) are mythology, and the rest are motw, with one (I'm guessing episode 3) being comedy. Chris Carter is doing episodes 1-4-6 with Glen Morgan doing episode 2 (fitting) Darin Morgan (responsible for some of the funniest episodes) doing 3 and James Wong doing episode 5.
That's a good set of names attached to them, thank fuck Howard 24242424 Gordon is nowhere near it. Obviously, would be good if Kim Manners had done some, but as he's dead, this is next best thing.
What channel is it going to be on etc? How many eps? My attempt to watch em all in advance got about six episodes in now need to work out whether to not watch them as they come out or we what. ADVICE PLEASE PEOPLE!
Kim Manners directed about a quarter of all X Files episodes. There's 6 coming up. I made a list of key mythos episodes a while back for a pal, but it can be a slog without motw to break it up
It's awesome. I've watched every ep and can't wait for more.
He could've just said they came from another planet but seems keen to convince people with his bullshit pseudoscience that he knows stuff. I wouldn't trust him with my lunch. - SG
I got to the end of season 4 or 5 in my rewatch. Whichever is the season that ends with the first movie. I couldn't get my copy of the movie to work so i halted. Need to get a working copy and finish it off!
Need to get this out of mothballs. Have all series and the films on DVD.
I can remember preferring the stand-alone episodes to the conspiracy ones when this first appeared on TV ( I remember it used to on BBC2 on a Sunday night), but have since come to appreciate the large encompassing story arc.
Can't remember where I abandoned a complete watch-through. It was some time ago so may start all over again.
By the time super soldiers and magnetite roll round, the magic of the mythos has well and truly disappeared. However, I'm not surprised that that seems to be ignored for the more interesting late show plot thread in the reboot. And sadly it doesn't seem to mean the date one.
In my urge to get Mrs reg up to date we did Dreamland 2 and The Ghosts Who Stole Christmas. Season 6 is definitely the unsung hero - they're just gasping for fun after the slog of the film.
Which season had the episode called Small Potatoes? That's one of my faves. Milder looking at mirror and doing a semi-Taxi Driver. "You looking at me?!" "F.B.I!"
At least I think it was called Small Potatoes.
Anothe fave is the ghost house one where at the end they think they're dying and crawling on floor before realising it's all fake and in their head.
There's no way they could have known they'd have such troubles getting a third movie/new season running, but Jesus if they didn't shoot themselves in the foot by giving an actual nailed on date for a BIG EVENT.
One would assume they'll have to tackle that in some manner, even if it's just a case of hey ho, shit got delayed.
Also, I like all the mythos stuff. Go overall conspiracy!
Watched the sizzle reel which does end with a MOMENT .
Utter buzzing. Have been dropping random x files episode trivia on my wife. I was utterly obsessed back in the day. Still have the trivia game which asks all sorts of mad esoteric making of episode things
