This was my leaving present from my old job. I started roasting it slowly around noon. Nearly time to take it out to rest. I’m currently hard at work on the gravy, because gravy is an art form.
My roast beef was pretty pretty good. Just sent the last of the guests away into the snowstorm outside. The dog is shattered (had a dog houseguest as well, so they’ve been playing all night). Even the Mrs is fast asleep already. I’m basking in the meaty afterglow with a pot of stock bubbling on the stove. Life is good.
Grabbed a selection of 3 Drygate cans last night and so far have enjoyed all of them.
I got the Orinoco Mocha Milk Stout, Disco Forklift Mango Pale Ale and Chimera IPA.
The Orinoco and Disco are opposite ends of the flavour scale but both delicious, Chimera just a solid IPA. Well done Glasgow.
Likewise, I think this is one of the better ones I have had too, worth a go. I picked it up in Sainsburys down here so should be readily available up there.
I'm a bit of a noob on them, it takes some time to find what you like so best to grab a selection and make a mental note of what ones suited.
Or put the empty cans/bottles you like separate from the rest so you remember in the morning.
The frozen Yorkshire pud lets things down, but solid effort otherwise. I’m a big fan of the ‘just fucking tear the meat into bits’ approach to chicken carving.
