    Talking of clean...

    — Athletes who accuse others of doping

Murray's been criticising Sharapova, and there he is in a photo with Anthony ‘Greens’ Joshua. He's also mates with David ‘Spinach’ Haye. And probably on the gear himself. Schippers wants world records prior to 2005 erased, while Radcliffe obviously doesn't agree. Ennis has also been quite vocal about ‘cheats’. I hope that people look more charitably upon Chambers one day for at least having the balls to own up.

PEDs are as good as mandatory in track, boxing, baseball, and MMA. They're used in football for stamina and cricket for injury prevention and hastened healing; ageing bowlers face back and shoulder problems. They're all over the tennis lawn, but brushed under its tarp.

I'm not in favour of legalising PEDs in sport because that's like allowing anorexia in a dieting competition, but it rankles that so many people are oblivious to its mighty prevalence.

  • People who wear tshirts with political slogans. Fuck.Off.
Repeal the 8th my hole. Fuck you thats why.
Disclaimer : Content of the slogan matters not.

Same with the likes of Greenday and their shit political songs. Yeah they are probably doing God's work but ruining otherwise halfway servicable songs int the process. Stick to singing about traps and drinking and Limp Bizkit.

    Cunts.

Which apps have keyboards that override the default? That's just daft.
  • Working night shift and then having my down time between shifts be filled with construction noise and contructors yelling at each other. Shut uuuuuuup I wanna watch some stuff without distractions.
Doesn't help that they also work on weekends.

Most TV on demand apps on phones and consoles. Loads of games.

In my experience, more use their own than use the system one. They are uniformly shite.

*Android phones. Custom keyboards weren't allowed on iOS devices until a year or two ago, almost nothing has a custom keyboard.

  • Oh shit, yes, I meant to PM you, cheers. Actually arrived on my birthday, which was a nice bonus, although there was a distinct lack of tranny porn in the box with it.

Apologies, yup. Clearly my brain is conflating console memories with iOS ones. Sorry.

The console ones drive me mad enough to affect everything I interact with.

Pretty sure none of my phone apps use anything other than the keyboard app I've selected as my default.

I can see why tv remotes would, it's extra branding plus they want it to look like their remote

    Pretty much
  • Was the same when I worked nightshift in the casino.

My mrs at the time couldn't understand why i didn't want to eat dinner with her, failing to realise that I'd just woken up and wanted cornflakes, not a full dinner.
  • I find that my body is inconsistent with it. Sometimes I'll wake up and want breakfast, other times I'm hungry for dinner.

Yours rotate though, I always found rotating shifts like that take more effort, to realign with a new pattern every four days, Definitely not good for the body

Aye, some nurses do 12-hour shifts on a four-day rotation. One of those off days is pretty much lost in transition.

    — BT's ads

Our super-reliable Wi-Fi’ — you can't guarantee that! Someone who lives out on the middle of a moor's gonna get a much better home connection than anyone who lives in a city, regardless of router quality.

And they've an ad that screams ‘marketing agency’, where the music changes from a-bit-of-bass-for-the-boys-and-dads to tweedily-dee for the mums. And then repeats. Some dandy wee agency charged a small fortune for that ‘targeted insight’.

Different job but my Dad has done similar pretty much my entire life.

It used to be 4 days, 4 off, 4 nights, 4 off.
Now it is 2 days, 2 nights, 4 off.

Either way he was always a zombie on the first day off.
It is far from ideal and the amount of time off on paper is flattering.

Seemed like the blocks of 4 were better but hard to say as he was also a lot younger. 60 is too old for that shit.

Exactly that. My mum didn't do days, but she worked four nights in a care home, and it destroys the quality of your sleep after a while. She got by on 4.5 hours for years, and although she was able to catch up a bit on her days off, her body clock became accustomed.

Tell you what, though: the GP wife of one of her cousins is paid a grand per night in her hospital. And he's also wealthy, so she works part-time. I wouldn't mind nights under those conditions. (Apart from the GP thing.)
  • My Dad always suffered, you could see it. Especially during summer, the light, noise and hayfever meant he got very little sleep.
It is dangerous really, night shifts should be lighter on hours. Not sure what your Mum did (guessing Nurse) but lives can be lost. My Dad was signing off engineering work on commercial airlines.

Fewer hours and representative pay, yeah.

My sister works in an ITU ward and took a degree conversion to allow her to administer certain meds. Sleep deprivation's especially dangerous there because patients are at the mercy of monitors.

Her salary's below £30k, by the way, so it bugs me when people dismiss nurses as comfortably-off professionals. She could double her wage by moving into management, but she hates the idea. I've seen a lot of nurse-bashing by Tory-voters lately, so that's going into 101.
