101 Things that get on our tits but don't actually matter in the slightest.
  • I'm starving hungry and having to 3d model a deli counter, it is killing me. Having to look at Serrano ham with a rumbling stomach is not ideal.
I read that as having to model at a deli counter.
  • hahaha
Come with g if you want to live...
  • Haha
If I was actually modelling there I would have destroyed the ham by now.
Which goes to explain somewhat why I don't have a career in modelling.
  • I would have destroyed the ham

  • Yup no issue going off to buy "lady's things".
But I do not like to go pick up tights for her. I just assume that the person behind the till will think that I'm going to wear them. It would be worse if I were to go through self service. Then the assistant there hovering would definitely think the tights would be for me.

My mind can be unrelentingly dirty. Especially shopping. I do chortle when I see the yummy mummys taking their time selecting just the right cucumber.
Good Lord p0rn has ruined me. :D

Just make sure you ask lots of detailed questions about a nearby bank when you're at the till, staffing levels, pickup times, stuff like that.

  • I wouldn't have an issue picking up tights/stockings for the missus. People are embarrassed by stuff, everybody's different. Unfortunately I brought it up at the worst possible time. :(

Why, and even if they do, so?
  • I can pretty much emphatically state that most till staff give zero shits about what people are buying.
  • Unless it's booze.  I was asked for ID a few months ago.  I was 41 at the time.

Shop I worked at also sold some porn DVD's that only a specific type of men seemed to find. Some of them hid them between some sci fi movies, others just took them to the till, usually between 5-10 films.
Wouldn't have been that big a problem if the barcodes would actually scan. Means you had to call the department and describe what was on the cover as they usually didn't have a clear name. I didn't really care but you could see the guy getting nervous, mainly when more people joined the line and were curious what the hold up was about.

(it was a Mediamarkt, they sell all kind of household stuff, cameras, car radios, phones, speakers, games, etc. There weren't that many people that realized there was porn hidden somewhere, so I could kinda understand them getting nervous)

That story somehow manages to both reaffirm and undermine my stereotypes about the Dutch simultaneously.
  • The fuel guage on my car. It's one of those ones with wee bars that light up. What gets on my tits is that there's an odd number of them, so i can't tell when I've got exactly a half tank.
  • What fucking idiot would design something like that??
Come with g if you want to live...
  • A Swedish one, apparently.
  • Speaking of shit design in cars, a mate of mine had an Astra (2007ish) that had a mute function on the radio. Not so silly you may think, but it required the holding down of a button for several seconds to mute, but was virtually instantaneous to just switch off/on.

Why would you want to know and how could you be sure an even number would be exact??

  • Every car I've had in the past had a guage that showed quarters etc, I'm just used to it. I prefer even numbers in general. It's my ocd.

i try not to post 'things the wife does that get on my tits' cos this thread would get very messy, but this reminds me of one of the littler ones.
She always turns the volume right down on things like the car radio, rather than just pressing the off button (or pressing mute or pause if it's the TV).  This annoys me first cos she's pressing one button lots of times instead of a single press - ergo 'doing it wrong'.  But with the car it's extra annoying cos she just leaves it like that...then I get in the car, usually switch to bluetooth to play music from my phone (which takes a fair few seconds to hook up) then start driving...then after a minute or two I'm like "why's the music not working?" or "what's that annoying sound just on the edge of hearing?"...and after faffing on I realise that the volume was set to 0 or 1...

speaking of bluetooth in the car, an extra annoyance - the volume control on my phone is treated like a master volume for the music played through the car system.  This means that with my phone at my normal volume settings, the music via the car is about half the volume of the radio.  Means I either have to turn the car stereo volume right up, which is then stupid loud if I switch to the radio....or faff on turning the phone volume up, which is then stupidly loud when it rings if I don't think to turn it back down again when I get out of the car.

Why can't it recall a volume setting per input, that's really poor design

    50 is though.
  • Ram, your wife is broken, take her back.
  • Ram, Mrs bawjaws does the same thing. When channel hopping, goes up or down one channel at a time, instead of using the guide. Never mutes the tv, always turns it down. Although to be fair, she does pause it occasionally.

Bluetooth in the car. I set my phone at maximum, then adjust from there, although i do have to turn it up a lot higher than the radio to get some decent volume out of it.

Speaking of volumes and significant others: she always has the tv really loud. Our tv switches on at the volume it was at when it was switched off, so when i come creeping in at 3am after work, i turn the TV on and it rattles my fillings, it's that loud. Then she gets nippy because it woke her up.

And another thing: why is it (on Virgin at least) HD channels are quieter than non HD ones? Have to crank the tv up to hear an hd channel, then she switches it to the fuckin one show or something (hate that programme) on regular bbc and it's blaring loud.

I've never chceked but I think that might be due to the HD channels having surround encoding in them. So if you listen without a front centre speaker then the vocals especially are a lot lower in the mix as you seem to only get the L and R channels not the whole lot downmixed
