I blame Frantic for this pageturn, it took me ages to select my list of remasters. I said they were random but they weren't, I carefully whittled down a longer list. What if I up the prize to £3.50?
Don't add a price next to the two you think aren't on Switch pls. In the highly unlikely event of a tiebreaker I'd take into account correct identification of not on Switch/not remastered at all.
I’m not sure I understand the point of ‘guessing’ the RRP of games which are already out, some of them for some considerable time.
Anyway, I came here to read up on the responses to the Direct. I can’t believe there’s not even mention of the fucking weird presentation. It was all so fucking odd, it distracted from the games.
As best as I can tell, they recorded the entire audio separately, to ensure audio consistency between the voiceovers and the scripted ‘banter’, then lip-synched the ‘banter’ with the audio. Gotta love that scripted banter. Then there was a piece-to-camera from a dev (with the same, horrible, over-sterilised Saturday morning kids’ TV delivery) where they had blurred out so much of her office, it looked like a 90s 3D render.
Some bizarre games on show too. Wasn't convinced by the majority of software displayed and I usually find multiple games to add to the wishlist in these things.
Aye. Some of them seemed particularly cheap looking. Now, I know indies are often, by their nature, less polished than other titles, but given the quality of some of the indies I already have on Switch, it feels odd that they’re showcasing more amateur-looking affairs. The movement in Pedro looked decidedly iffy at several points, and the taxi one looks like it’s all high school art portfolio and no trousers.
Still, I look forward to convincing myself that it doesn’t matter that I’m shit at Cuphead because it’s a clunky port.
If it helps, it's not as impossibly difficult as I thought it would be. It's very, very tricky from start to finish, but the odds never felt insurmountable. You have to learn the patterns for each and every stage (I only beat one in a single attempt iirc), but that's the point.
