So Twitter will become another right wing data-driven haven for hate speech and false advertising. Twitter isn’t perfect, it’s combative algorithm needs to be dropped and definite problems with bots, but people are starting to spot them. But at least they took a moral stance and decided to not allow bullshit political advertising.
And here is the main problem with not just America but the world. Billionaires are generally going to be more right wing than left and are going to either buy outright or partner with unscrupulous companies (like Facebook) to continue to allow right wing governments to push lies onto the public.
They know they don’t have to worry about regulation as there isn’t any. The new tech companies are making this shit up as they go.
Until a strong left wing government makes changes from a compliance viewpoint, the data centric approach to politics is going to keep being won by the right.
