Yar, we're a bit short. Obviously, leave the offer open for a bit and make a decision in the end based on funds. I don't mind chipping in a wee bit more, if necessary, to help move towards the line, but we can wait and see if anyone else can help.
Cinty; thanks for the offer but no need, specially as you have already provided a generous contribution. I haven't ended this yet as I was just holding out for a couple of pledges to come through. Speaking of which...
Following receipt of one said pledge, I can now confirm that we have enough for a PS4!! I'll be ordering the 1TB version from Smyths later today, hopefully at lunchtime at work. I have Tiger's address already so he will be first to get one.
We have a bit more than we need for 1 PS4, so I will put that towards the one for Haak and any further contributions that may come through late. I'll make up the difference as stipulated and sort something out to reduce my personal outgo, eg take the games from the bundles or ask they buy me a game in the future or something.
Unbelievable, I only just saw this thread... I am actually quite lost for words, what a gesture from you folk. Such an amazing community. And Som, what a chap, you're truly a gent but I simply could not ask you to put yourself in a position that you're aiming for. Ship the PS4 to Master Tigro and I'll sort myself out in due time, the gestures alone from all of the forumites is reward enough.
And I can understand some peoples input - someone put it that we have communities within communities here, which is so true. I've been so lucky to have found the EDGE forums back in 2002 and to have been a part of it ongoing since then. There are so many fine folk here that I can single handily say my online gaming has been proper lols with their company in toe.
Back when we organised Mordor Mashup I thought I'd never be so mad as to take a plane (several times) across the pond just to play games and drink beer, but I did - and it's forged some great relationships over the years, even with people outside of the forum who attended Mordor Mashup. Nick put his house up for weekends at a time so we could all nerd out and play some Street Fighter together, simply magical stuff; there's something about sitting side-by-side playing videogames, something that can never be accomplished through the internet, so much as they may try.
I'm sure other people in here who play together can understand what I'm saying, it's great to have a pool of players to join and play games with as we grow and evolve together. From the Gears of Wars days, to Street Fighter and Destiny, to the folk who Play Forza and Titanfall. It's a truly remarkable little community we have here.
With that, I just want to offer my gratitude to the sentiment on offer with this thread, you're a great bunch (even that cunt Gonzo )

Bro; I'm ok with it. I want to help out, it makes me happy to do so. If you think you'll end up buying a PS4 soon anyway, don't. Take one now, and like I mention in my third post (updated with some Ts&Cs) maybe buy me a game in the future.
I may be able to get a 500GB model a bit cheaper somewhere anyway so hopefully the extra won't be as much as it sounds. I'm all cool with all this; some of us just can't bear the idea of you and Tiger not playing from day 1!
Mate, treat yourself to something instead, it's absurd putting yourself in that position. I can look into getting myself a PS4 down the road, there's a CEX near to me so I'll pop in there on occasion
Seriously, the sentiment alone is enough. I'd feel extremely uncomfortable, but I sincerely appreciate the gesture. If there's any moment left over from all the kind donations I'll make up the difference myself at some point
Haak. If you're concerned about it costing me, and you're minded to / ok with using CEX, I can send you lots of vouchers I have. That way I don't have to spend as much/any extra cash.
Let me know. I have around £100 or more of CEX vouchers.
Seriously. Set out to make sure you and Tiger can play day 1, I ain't resting til you do.
