Just managed preliminary 9th position on the first of today's tourney's with a -10. Think I'm so high up because I managed to get one of those hit the flag and then it spins towards the hole shots.

I suppose it's a good thing to get to the 17th hole of a +1 Rough tourney on La Provence without realising it's a +1 rough and not having hit the rough 'til the 17th hole

Edit: gah! only a -9 on the Kagurayama 18 hole. How quickly it can all fall apart!

Just played the 18 holer, it was averaging 0, which I thought was a bit low when I was -8 after a dozen holes, then I had a really nice run of bogey, double bogey, double bogey, triple bogey. Great stuff.

Had a -11 (10cm away from -12) on one of the nine holers, which was some consolation.

Can't be bothered with the 18 holer tonight, but I got -10 on both of the 9 holes just now, ending up with preliminary 35th? on Maple and 13th on Kagarayumayuma. Getting ever closer to that top 10!

Had a go of the tournament for the first time yesterday, -8 for 9 holes, ending up 72nd. Anyone getting near the top 10 must be tremendous at this game!

Cheers, it's quite appalling how my form fluctuates, couldn't do anything right a week ago, but these last few days my impact has been in the 60's and 70's, which really helps.
No doubt I'll return to mediocrity soon, need that albatross before I do.

My albatross on hole 14 of Maple was pure luck but on hole 1 I like to think I used a bit of prediction to get it!

I don't know about you guys but I find it hard to hit anything other than max power, so I'm usually trying to choose my club according to that. Probably should be aiming to hit just past the hole when aiming for the green, because then it will always give you the chance of it going in, but I guess it depends where the easiest place to putt from on the green is. Uphill shots are always easier, I find!

Does wind affect putts?

It does in real golf but I don't think it does in Everybody's Golf

One of my main gripes is the hitting less than 100% thing, in EG 1+2 it was quite easy to hit 1 or 2 notches under, I suppose you could use the triangle/circle shot adjusters, but I lack the coordination for that.

Got a -14 on the Harvest Hills 18 hole long-tee tourney today. 13 straight birdies followed by a bogey! Gah! A record score but still, I'm disappointed. Also on the 9 hole rounds I had 2 putts that missed by less than 10cm :'(

Yeah missing an easy putt is always disappointing no matter how well you're doing! Also they would've been personal bests for those holes (both eagles)

I don't think it will happen but omg how good would it be to have new DLC courses on this game!

The PS3 version had a couple of DLC course packs, so it's not that unlikely. They were pretty hard courses though.

Managed an albatross on the mega-cup today, then fucked up the last hole with a Par on a Par 5, argh!

After my couple on inauspicious rounds this morning I dropped 2 places back to 194th again. At least it shows there's a bit of activity up here. Seated in Gregg's (Sandwich Specialist Retailer of the Year 2012) I wanged a 10 under on Maple Leaf and a, in my mind, more impressive 4 under on Al Arabia for a PB. Don't mess with a man with a sausage roll in his hand.

Am I going mental or does the PS3 version not have a pause menu to let you exit out of rounds?
My son has graciously put me in some rounds with poor club/golfer/swing combinations and I've had no way to back out.

It's something like hold down the two triggers and start and select at the same time, you might need to look it up though.

thats a soft reset, works with most ps games sas.

But to the EGWT menu still, not out of the game? You mean other games let you skip back a screen like that?

yeh to the menu/title screen, its called a soft reset.
its been around since ps1.

So other than online tournaments and rankings, what's different between this and EG2?

Looks like the daily tournaments are changing on the 24th, Same as the Japanese server I presume.
Apparently the Japanese have updated to version 1.08 which allows DLC, including a couple of new courses.
