I saw avatar once at the pictures in 3d and remember thinking, 'ah, so this is 3d'. I have no other opinion of it to offer.

I went all-in for the spectacle of it. IMAX 3D on launch night. Big group of friends, pub first then cinema. As a cinema ‘event’ I really enjoyed it. Giant, pretty, movie that felt visually new and original. Fuck all else to it, but that didn’t matter in the context.
