There's a very slight, tiny-weeny, minuscule, need-a-microscope-to-see-it chance that I could be getting a job in Perth.

So, talk to me about Perth. Nice place to live, or am I gonna get shanked? Y'know, that sort of thing.

Its also a little bit Texas. Progressive isn't a term I'd use. But then again, your white and British. They'll love you.

Cool, very close to where we used to live. Nice and sunny (read: hot) in summer. If you can swing somewhere between the Canning Hwy and the campus you will be in areas where there are lots more trees/established housing. The more N/NE of the campus you go the closer you get to concrete suburban/lite industrial area. Or towards East Vic Park which can be a little rough.

Depends what sort of budget you're after, but out towards Canning Hwy is walk/bike distance.

Dunno about budget - not even applied yet. But it's a good fit with my experience.
