All time best ending was Babylon 5, so emotional and sad. I’ve watch big recently and even with the wonky first season, dodgy FX and some bad acting the end works as a way to end a show. Compare that to DS9 that I finally watched recently. Not only was Sisko zipping all over the place faster than fast travel in Skyrim it was just left open ended enough due to the cynical Star Trek money men hoping it could maybe get another show in the future.
More recently I really loved the ending to Breaking Bad. But actually it was probably the penultimate episode that hadn’t the emotional gut punch (the call to his wife was in that episode I think and was the core of everything he did).
I controversially liked the ending to Lost but don’t know if that’s just because so many people at work were bitching about it.
Indeed. A really fitting way to finish.Kow wrote:Let's not forget Breaking Bad, that ended properly.

He also did Eternal Sunshine with Gondry and that was utterly brilliant, which is why I have high hopes for this.Cosby wrote:He’s not done anything good in a long time but he did some great films in his early career. Maybe he always was a cunt but I didn’t know about the anti-vaxxer stance and various other bullshit until relatively recently.

I might be misremembering but the Truman Show was way dialled down from his 90s norm. It was the start of him trying to branch out a bit. Still a bit much though.WorKid wrote:Truman Show could have been a cracking film with a more reserved performance from the lead. I just wanted him to die.
