Amos and one of the creator/writers do a podcast on YouTube called Ty and that Guy. They started doing it on Amazon Prime channel, actually, doing recaps and guests for each ep of season 4 and now they've moved to their own channel to start from season 1.

After seeing the American twitter reaction to the Oprah interview with Meghan and Harry, I'm going to end up watching it tonight.

It's amazing how the introduction of one person of colour into the royals made them completely implode.

None of these 'reveals' is in any way surprising. Shocking to hear the blatant racism and psychopathic disregard for human feelings, yes. But not surprising. The Royals really have fucked this up very badly - having their bluff called by one of their own is quite amusing.

I too have no interest in the royals. Actually is it possible to have negative interest? I only know Markle because of her time on Suits. Word is, she be one gold diggah hooor and I wont watch the interview. Anyway that is my contribution. Carry on.

Why is she a goldigger? I've been on Twatter and the comments there that support the Royal family are atrocious bile. They assume that a woman from a "lower" (even Kate Middleton has some "pedigree") class or background is a gold digger if she "marries up"? That's without the exacerbating issue of her race. It's all fucking sexist and racist bullshit and needs to stop. It's a general tarring of women as whores for the right price because of a few instances of predatory women. I don't class all men by the bullshit and harmful behaviour of the few of them.

Even worse, it tells us a lot about how the Royal family, and unfortunately the people who support them, think about women. That Meghan's inclusion in the family is clearly tainting the line. That women are to be appraised by the virtue of their birth rather than their merit as people. An institution that I think the majority of this country still support, even if it's simply in a "they're harmless" sort of a way.

That Meghan Markel is a target of a smear campaign and Prince Andrew gets a nice little hush up is perverse. Really shows where their priorities are.

And on International Women's Day too (minor sarcasm, I don't really buy into themed days but understand why they exist - because shit like this still happens).

I am not surprised at all with what happened with the gutter press. At the wedding it was joyous, because they read the mood of the public, who wanted it, but given time the vile headlines soon started. And it is definitely racist bullshit. I'm sure I've posted them before, but there are bunch of headlines of Kate vs. Meghan, on the same subject matter, always positive for Kate, always negative for Meghan.

It was stuff like Kate eating avocados was good for her, but Meghan was eating food that was killing the native population who farmed it, or some such.

Then there was one where they were both touching the baby bump. Kate's was joyful connection between mother and baby, Meghan's was why I she always touching the bump.

And then there were two shots of them going out in nice dresses, Kate was a model, Meghan was a slut, was basically how the two different articles were positioned.

They are both better off out of here.

The problem is one of culture clash. The Americans love the Royals and the pomp and ceremony. They love the trappings but they have no concepts of the culture of duty the Royals have.

I am no Royal fan but I'd rather have them there than not. They are imperfect as any group but the best of them seem to hold the concept of duty dear to them. Maybe that's dying out - when it does the idea of royalty will too.

Meghan got her royal wedding and all the trappings. And as an American she had no concept of the cost of that .... taking up a lifelong role that was never going to be enough for her. She is a journeyman actor who got a huge boost in her stock from joining it. Maybe she thought she could cash in on it for life (she already has of course) but her misunderstanding is evidence of the US/UK culture clash.

Harry is an idiot. All he is doing is trying to please his wife. Nothing wrong with that. But he is an idiot. Did he really think he could break away and set up a court in the US?

If there were racial slurs then that's disgraceful of course. But if there wasn't and she has played the race card ... that is something else.

No, I've overheard some lady folk discussing Markle. I cant remember the details but before Harry she was throwing in with blokes to further her career and then dropping them the second she got a better offer. So that has informed a nebulously vague, unfounded opinion about her. Come to think of it I think there was something involving her father too but I cant be bothered googling it. So I base my accusations on half overheard/barely remembered impressions of scandal rag gossip.
Only reason I remember her at all is that she is extremely attractive.

On a half-serious note though, Im not right leaning at all. Im just not into the cancel culture and the if you are not with us you are against us stuff thats going on. Or is it going on? Who knows anymore.

But I lack the interest/time to do proper research and actually form an opinion, so throwing the odd shitpost out is the right thing to do.
