That was a slog at times. The game performance is smoother, but the netcode is still bad. Getting shot round a corner, inconsistent spotting and hit detection still as infuriating as ever. It's well and good showing pings on the leader board, but if you don't restrict or cap these high pings, it's a pointless exercise. Other than that huge cloud, I quite enjoy this.

Premium maps are available to try again, just had a few games there. They're OK, but very run and gun. Only 4 maps and one of them never wins the vote, not a great advert for premium.
Well, of the three maps we got to see, I liked the more open trench one, the built up town one was tolerable, Le Operation du Locker however was rotten. Premium money saved I think, nice touch of the game to lock out the XP though and hold it to ransom pending a Premium purchase, must try harder DICE.

WTF is going on with classes and XP anyway?
You rank up but you also rank up each class independently of your overall rank, with items locked out until you reach certain levels per class?
If so that's a bit shit.
I'm assuming they're trying to get people to pay for unlocks to save the bother. Another free go on the premium maps suggests that the take up isn't nearly as good as it used to be.
Played a couple more hours MP yesterday, just straight up team deathmatch to try and get used to weapons and such. Definitely helped as conquest was certainly trial by fire the other night.
I'm sure it's partly because I've lost some FPS skills but it still feels a bit unbalanced, a few OP weapons and dodgy deaths. Flame thrower guys can fuck right off, in SP & MP.
There's a decent game in there though. I'm not sure I'll stick with it that long given it seems unlikely those issues will be addressed as it's been out for almost a year already but I'll enjoy it will it lasts or until something else can scratch that MP FPS itch comes along.
It does feel like they've thrown balance out the window at times, the setting should have been a good opportunity to streamline the game, instead they've added cavalry in a pretty daft way and made the pick up weapons very low skill.
Yeah, I guess I expected there to be more of a natural balance due to the obvious limitation in weapons when compared to modern or near future shooters but that's probably not what the bulk of folk that play those games expect now.
I'll stick with it though. I'm a bit too much of a 'run in guns blazing' type so can't blame the game for my poor performances most of the time. I'll have to get on with a group again to try and curb that aspect.
I guess there is no interest from EA/Dice in improving any of the front end stuff as the game sells anyway. The whole set up is a horrible mess I find, from getting into parties with your friends, to then actually getting into the same map etc. It's slow, clunky and not user friendly at all.
I still enjoy the occasional game myself, mainly because my mate loves it, but it could be so much better.
I'm falling apart to songs about hips and hearts...
