Wow, was I wrong
  • I traded a ton of stuff for inferior or comparatively worthless games (I think I got £3 off something else for trading in Shining Force III), but younger me would do it all again.
  • I used to think that during intercourse, the inside of the vagina would undulate like the side fins on a cuttlefish. I thought you just stuck it in there and the vag would do the rest.

Thankfully I found out I was wrong from porn, rather than humiliating myself.

I traded in a SNES with cib copies of many rpgs like Secret of Mana, and the big box Super Metroid, or a copy of secret of evermore that I never played, or Mega Man X which I did played. Traded for an N64 with Mario, Shadows, and (not Pilotwings) Turok

This was the right thing to do.

I can recall on several occasions being convinced I would not have a hangover in the morning.
Holding the wrong end of the stick since 2009.
  • I was never drinking again at least 100 times.

Hah! I was going to post this exact same thing.
  • As a younger and more foolish boy I once traded in FF8 and Metal Gear Solid for Fade to Black and Nightmare Creatures.
    nightmare creatures was amazing.

  • Fade to Black replacing Metal Gear Solid is the largest of oofs. I rented that once.

I, of course, still own it.

I always know i'm getting a hangover if i drink too much.
However i have often wrongly thought "I'll stop drinking after 6 pints"

  • Every time I think about the massive mistakes I’ve made in my life I try to remember that year that Muzzy gave up buying new games.
  • I swapped Sonic 2, Jamespond 2, Lemmings, and Rolo to the Rescue all for Lillehammer Winter Olympics on the Megadrive. This was with our local 'videoman', a guy who drove around with a van full of films and games to rent (he would beep his horn a couple of times on a Saturday evening then people would come out to choose from his selection). He made it seem like I was getting a great deal, as Lillehammer Winter Olympics was actually 10 games in 1, and I was happy to buy into this narrative.

My mum found out a week later and completely lost her shit over it. She insisted he had taken advantage of me, which I refused to believe. I remember being super embarrassed when she confronted him about it, as I was surprised how hostile she was. In the end I had to swap all the games back again.
  • Your mum doing good work there, Noxy, not gonna lie.

I have made agenda amends since...
  • I bought an Amiga CD32 when that came out. I had been hugely impressed by the FMV games that I'd seen running on a Mega CD in Curries/Comet. I assumed that the CD32 would do them much better.

Of course it turned out that FMV games were shite and very few were even ported to the CD32 so I could hardly have been more wrong.

Not as bad a choice as my mate's. He plumped for the Philips CDi despite my advice to the contrary - the most odious pile of shit I have ever experienced.

  • Ah the CD32...I was always jealous of owners of that. I thought the joypad looked space age. (I had an Amiga 600).

Which brings me to my wrong moment. I sold my Amiga and games collection for money to put towards a SEGA SATURN. I sold my Amiga via an ad in the local newspaper and I sold it for less than I should have. I shouldnt even have sold it though, especially for a Saturn. I remember when the PS1 came out and I just said oh shit.
