I've owned this on PS2 for years but never got around to playing it - cant believe I didn't - pretty amazing and the art style holds up beautifully. Anyone else picked this up?
Yep, I did too (and have apparently now bought it for Wii too) - took waaayyy to long to get into the actual game, but by jove it is pretty. It's a game I have never ever played either. Secret shame.
I played it to completion on ps2 and loved it.
I actually thought id got to the last boss on at least 3 seperate occasions, it carried on each time.
Its huge!!!!
I will be re~buying at some point soon.

I've tried to play it twice (both times on the Wii). Four hours the first time, and sixteen hours on the second attempt. I enjoyed everything apart from the fight system but found its apparent forty-hour length a bit daunting.
Played it to completion on PS2. Wonderful game, but it is very long and probably something I'm not going to be undertaking again anytime soon. Edge were complaining about the visuals for HD release as well.
First time playing this and it could be the most beautiful game I've ever played, haven't noticed the wolf god's bum-pipe tbh, too busy thinking about Sakuya's cleavage(s)
Yeah, Windwaker too. I'd love a HD re-release on WiU, with  master quest, hard mode, and maybe the dungeons that (iic) never made it into the game because of time constraints.Â
Made some progress in the game and just witnessed a lingering, gratuitous, Amy bum shot
- can't unsee.
Yeah it was a bit of a 'dungeon' alright, really short and straightforward. Still liked it though, the brush tech you get is great fun, good boss fight too.Â
They'll probably get more complex and puzzle heavy as the game goes on, but I wouldn't mind if they didn't. The game seems designed to be incredibly generous, throwing new powers, moves, yen, praise, characters etc at the player without making them work that hard for it, and while I normally like a challenge, in this case I prefer the constant flow of progression without any real impediments (so far), it seems to suit the mostly calm, delightful atmosphere in the game.
Having said that, I'm not too far in. Okami could yet do a Dark souls and start kicking my ass with impunity. We'll see. Wonderful game, has me by the stones.
PS3, Wii controls are shit shit shit. Waggle to attack was some berks novel idea of getting more wavy wavy into the game thus the combat is utterly fucked.
Wavy wavy is good for drawing but it's often too sensitive and makes drawing circles and lines tougher than it should be too. I much preferred the PS2 version back when I played them both.
And game? Pros? Cons? Is it zelda? I hope it's not zelda. I've put 10 hours into Skyward sword into the last week that have been a good 10 hours but c'mon man
At it's core I guess it is Zelda, but dungeons aren't like Zelda dungeons - they aren't clever, they're more A-B. But the combat is great and there is a lot of depth to it and the three different weapon types being able to be used as primary/secondary mixed with various techniques you can buy, and the brush stuff mean you can fight in all sorts of ways. You can even make Ammy pee and dig holes cos she's a right DOG.
It's long too, goes on a bit really but the story is interesting and it's absolutely gorgeous from start to finish. Also, gotta love that Japanese mythology getting rolled out properly too. And Issun is great.
I've finished it three times but couldn't be bothered with Skyward Sword so I guess that's an endorsement? Lots of secret stuff to find if you explore too.
