Dougie’s face is a mix of, “How did Tibbs even do that?” and, “The rules, Tibbs, you’re breaking the rules! The gate means we’re not allowed. I for one won’t even question this. Bad Tibbs.”
Thing is, he can clear the gate easily in a single bound. He's bouncing off the door purely because he wants to. Does it when he's coming down the stairs as well and occasionally bounces off dougies back then on to the couch. Wee weirdo.
Less pleased with mine, I just chucked Kiki out for doing a shit right in front of me. I've made Bramble a bed on the floor, which is an old bedsheet on top of five cushions, because he's had spot-on Advocate worming treatment recently and I don't want him rubbing it all of the sofa/my bed (his usual haunts). We got rid of his actual bed because he refused to go anywhere near it. He's not currently on the makeshift one because he's watching his dinner cool down on the worktop. One minute Kiki was rolling around on it being playful, then she pegged it out the room and the smell gradually wafted over.
She's been incredibly irritating since Splodge died.
Candy's a lot more enthusiastic than Bramble when it comes to fetch. I'll try to get a video of his catching skills at some point. My guess would be if I threw 10 treats in a perfect arc for catching, he'd miss 7 or 8. From three feet away.
To be honest, her enthusiasm for it made using that thing difficult. Using a normal ball launcher, standing a few feet back from where I am in that video, she’s catching the ball as she gets into the shadow of the oak tree. She’ll drop it at my feet, immediately turn and take off again, accelerating hard. When she tried that with the Nerf gun, the ball never got past her, would land behind her and she’d be none the wiser. I had to get her to wait until I’d launched it, which she had difficulty understanding.
Obviously I don’t know for sure but, from the way she reacts and goes for it, we’re pretty sure her favourite thing is to catch the ball after the first bounce, launching herself in the air after it. She certainly gives it her all.
Cooper got so excited about fetch in the house this morning that he misjudged his turn-and-launch manoeuvre and launched face-first into the corner of the sofa. Poor guy. He immediately forgot about the ball and jumped on my knee for a reassuring hug.
