"Don't trust anything you hear from the media" was he message they wanted to send over the weekend. While that probably worked for people that already don't, the message anyone with half a brain would have got is "Don't trust anything you hear from the White House".
The problem at the moment is that he is competent enough at getting his message to enough people in a language they understand and trust that it sticks.
People form social bubbles (echo chambers) and as long as he can influence enough people in those bubbles then they do the job of rebroadcasting, reinforcing and legitimising his message in those groups. Then they don't trust the messages coming from outside their bubble, because one of the things he pushes is that "they" can be trusted.
The retweeting of old Spicer tweets has brought me many laughs. But then also dread. Fucking hell.
This summary of his series of rants aimed at "Dippin' Dots" (an admittedly awful sounding American Ice Cream) is simultaneously sort of hilarious and utterly depressing.
I tend to agree. I would be surprised if he made it to 2018, myself. Although, based on recent experience, the mere fact that I've expressed this opinion means he'll probably serve two terms and then install Ivanka.
It is a shit divisive attitude that doesn't take time to consider the personal circumstances of individuals at all.
Who is he to dictate what protests people should and shouldn't be at?
I sure hope he has been at every single protest I consider to be appropriate, wouldn't want him to be a hypocrite now.
No wonder the far right have it so easy, there is always a know it all cunt on the left dragging everyone else backwards.
