Although, since it hadn’t reopened yet, we can be reasonably sure nobody was inside. Can’t imagine any of the restoration workers were in there on a Friday night.
Not in any sort of original form. I think we’ll be beyond restoration this time and into redevelopment instead.
Bloody hell that’s a big fire. I just took the dog out for a walk and you can even see the smoke and flames from my bit, despite the big fucking hill in the way. Can smell it, too.
I’ll be designing their 2019 prospectus in the next month or so. We’re going to need to react to this and address it properly.
Has spread to campus and the ABC, which is shutting now. I met my wife at the ABC and saw some of the best gigs (twilight sad / national / Franz Ferdinand ) there . Awful stuff
That’s the roof of the ABC completely gone. Awful shame, that exposed copper roof was absolutely gorgeous. Best thing about the building.
I heard from the manager this morning:
Nobody inside, the building was safely evacuated long before the fire spread to it. It’s way too soon to think about what will happen going forward, talk of it closing permanently is just gossip at this stage.
