Democrats not Republicans. Delay for a week with an investigation which is highly unlikely to reveal anything. But, the delay gives time for the Dems to capitalise on the testimony of yesterday's hearing. Sow a few more seeds of doubts in the few wavering Republicans, hope that something else comes out of the woodwork and hope that the vote is then cancelled. Then hope that the subsequent nominee's hearing and vote is the other side of the mid-term's when they would hope to have majority. Whole bag of hope.

No not this. I read somewhere that this is the first stage of confirmation. After this vote the candidate then has to be passed by Congress itself or something?Diluted Dante wrote:There are 3 possible No votes, and one of them is Flake, so probably only 2.pantyfire wrote:He has to get through a senate (congress? - who knows fucking yanks) vote after this doesn't he?
