I dunno, I think a lot of racism is subconscious, and he might be genuinely shocked by what he said. That said though, he needs to own it and share his surprise, recognise that it might show an unconscious bias and talk about that. I don;t for one second think ramage is behind closed doors saying far worse stuff

Yeah I doubt he has a full KKK outfit or anything but it's there and he should own it. There must have been a seed of something there.
To me, given the issues in football and supposed zero tolerance a twitter apology isnt enough.
He should be dropped by the BBC and work his way back from the bottom. It is a privileged job being a pundit and an influential one in that football fans parrot what the hear/read from them.
Completely agree, if he'd named five players he'd seen that behaviour from and they all happened to be young and black that's one thing. But saying all the young, black lads is only a couple of naughty words removed from Ron Atkinson's comments about Desailly. The intent is the same, and the tarring all with a single brush is the same. It's the difference between me calling a colleague a fucking slag and making a comment about this being her fifth boyfriend this month then

It's that willingness to fight from a zero position that seems so insidious to me. Why do you need to defend the right to say that?? Is it because you want to say the same??
He's a friend so we'll have that discussion in person over a pint as it's better than over social media, but yeah it's worrying

Such arrogance from Ed Woodward, and then seeing certain quarters try to paint it as strength. You have 15 minutes to accept a low value bid for a key player, no way would Blake be pushed around like that. It's money we don't need for a player we do. If Woodward had even looked at the way we handled Fraser over the last 12 months he'd have known that wouldn't fly

So if VAR has a look at an incident and decides it's fine, does that mean the retrospective 'ref didn't see it' violent conduct bans aren't a thing any more? Maguire should be off.
Massive yikes to the guy cocko is trying to reason with. You could, if you felt like bogglin his noggin, explain to him that "not seeing race" is the kind of 'colour blindness' outlined by Eduardo Silva that leads to institutionalised racism and inequality continuing to be going on. Some absolute class quotes in there tho as Dante pointed out. " People in society like me whom are normal human beings" is my quote of the day, but tomorrow it'll be "it's egg shell ground".
