IMO the main thing to learn and get over is that slight 'laggy' feeling in the gameplay, and where and when to press the buttons to call for a pass from the AI - and hope you get decent humans on your team who don't just spam it and play as individuals.
i'm finding playing in midfield quite enjoyable as a lower ranked player, as i'm not quick enough or good enough to score solo goals....but getting stuck in, picking up loose balls and knocking simple passes and through balls down the wing is a pretty effective way to get involved and get decent ratings (though i've no idea if that impacts how much your stats improve). And there's a certain shithousery enjoyment to trying to man-mark oppo humans and stop them getting easy balls all the time
i'm not brave enough to try playing in defence though as timing tackles is still a big lottery for me
Yep. there's an offline 'be a pro' type mode where you create a player and join a team and do a career like that (or there was, I'm assuming it's still there).acemuzzy wrote:It's this some mode where you control just one player?
