That's not how it works in my house. Could do all the housework today, the wife will want it done again tomorrow. Best just leave what i can to her really
Somehow it’s the 20th and I had no idea. I’ve basically got at least two weeks of advent calendar to open which must surely be the equivalent of a full chocolate bar.
So on 1st December mortgage goes up by £250.
I was expecting much much worse.
In march our childcare expenses drop by about £200 a month.
The energy company then calls and says "you've overpaid for the last year and are £1000 in credit. Do you want us to keep that and reduce your bills to about £15/20 a month or so you want that cash back?"
So taken £500 to ease the extra mortgage money for the next two months and the rest to reduce our energy bills.
I have no idea how but it's all coming up Milhouse.
Now just gotta be good enough to get this job promotion to Space in January...
Not everything is The Best or Shit. Theres many levels between that, lets just enjoy stuff.
Our mortgage is in two chunks, and both chunks come to the end of their fixed terms during 2024. I’m expecting bad things to happen to my finances when they do.
To back Unc up, we started looking at remortgage rates 6 months before our current fixed deal ends, at the end of this year, and have seen our quotes go down from 5.99% / 2 year fixed with a £1000 fee, to today’s 4.81% / 2 year fixed with £500 cashback.
Prediction is for rates to stabilise or even drop slightly over 2024 so it’s certainly not as bad as it was. Anyone getting mortgage or forced remortgage in 2023 got shafted
I was joking but it kinda makes sense now they’re at least stabilising (and with a few going the other way). It’s going to be pretty unpleasant - you’ll know that - so why spoil stuff now when you wait a couple more weeks to get really upset? Plus, they might be slightly cheaper by then anyway.
Was funny yesterday, I might just take the £20 now - she's been in A&E since this morning, after a 111 call in the early hours. 2023 is overdue fucking off.
