real talk if you love the high drama / wrestling style approach to setting up conflicts, do yourself a favour and go back to old games. The last fight in The Man Who Erased His Name is absolutely epic.
I’m still on the island. I keep meaning to go back to the proper game, but keep thinking ‘I’ll just do one more day’ and then all of a sudden a whole new section opens.
One of the characters has just got an amazing ability. This games continues to excel. Can’t believe how much they’ve packed into it. Such good value for money.
Chapter 9 finished last night. Still haven’t gone back to the island but I feel like I don’t want to stop the main story now as I’m so invested. Hoping there’s a post-finale free roam ability to do more mini game stuff.
Another couple of hours into chapter 4. I've been absolutely caning the side stories as they're my favourite bit. The snow one (I think that's vague enough to not need a spoiler) sure takes some twists and turns.
Back to the story this morning, about to exit
Spoiler:
the weird underground mall facility after finding Chitose
Back to this and more island gaming. I’ve managed to get the resort ready and have my first guests. This could probably have been sold as a stand alone game or at the least some DLC.
Day 19 on the island. I think I may need a refresher on the main story if I carry on like this. This island game is getting so good. It keeps adding a bit more, another system to layer onto your day and keep you deciding what takes priority. So far, it’s perfectly balanced, I’m just hoping it doesn’t become overwhelming. A tree punchers dream too.
Day 32 on the island and the gameplay loop is like crack. Just as you think you are going to head back to the main game they drop in another system to mess with your day, just about giving you enough time to do what you need to then loop back through into another day cycle. They gameplay balanced the shit out of this.
If there's as much depth to that as there is to the island it'll be brilliant.
A whole big RPG with a long story, a decent Pokémon snap mini game, a crazy taxi minigame, a whole Pokémon game and a whole Animal crossing game in there. Incredible
Not everything is The Best or Shit. Theres many levels between that, lets just enjoy stuff.
I haven’t bothered with either of those things. Outside the Sujimon on the island. What I found with Yaklad is the base character moves are what gets you through the final bosses. Assuming it will be the same here too.
