He could've just said they came from another planet but seems keen to convince people with his bullshit pseudoscience that he knows stuff. I wouldn't trust him with my lunch. - SG

Me too, and I applied for the prelims. Thought I was guaranteed to get tickets. Will be nice to watch an Olympics with full venues I suppose, just wish I could be going to more of them.
i wonder how many will actually be full though, as opposed to how many tickets were bought by chancers looking to sell them on for profit...and now they're stuck with table tennis tickets...
I am actually, shock, looking forward to the opening ceremony. I've always been on the fence about Boyle, he tends to deliver in one scene and the depthcharge it in the next. He has done some fairly consistent films though, and can pick a good soundtrack too.
Then I saw Frankenstein and I realised that I was totally fine with him doing the 'lympics. Underworld scored Franke and it was brilliant, and I think they are scoring part of this too. He used a circular set in Franke and some of the stuff he did whilst keeping to a minimalist theme was really good. He had a massive wedge shaped fitting in the roof which had hundreds of different size and shaped lightbulbs in and did lots of brilliant light patterns on them representing sunrise, thunder, and twinkling stars.
The set itself was all built around a circular turntable in the middle which had tracks on to allow them to slide out set scenery, including a house and a steam train, and it also lowered down in halves so they could create the effect of a mountain road. When fully lowered they could literally stick another set on via the rails, and raise it back up again. So the man cleary has great ideas around practically and visual flair, so he really could do us massively proud. I expect it to be a tad cheesy though, but what ceremony isn't?
Sooo BBC News 24 is completely taken up by Olympics coverage, never mind the imminent possible massacre in Syria and other stories, when there is full coverage on BBC 1 and all the other red-button channels. They did this with the Jubilee procession thing as-well, they never fecking learn do they?
Awesome, just wathing some bloke from LOCOG justifying the fuck up at SJP yesterday that meant hundreds of people didn't get into the football yesterday.
LOCOG chappy blamed Ticketmaster (who say it's LOCOG's fault for staffing levels) then said he had no idea of people who missed the football would get a refund.
Ray Davies is the only worthwhile thing I saw on a quick scan of the programme. Half the acts will be forgotten within the coming four years, and most of the other half needed a crust-scraping.
When exactly did Elton's voice go? It was never brilliant, but Goodbye Yellow Brick Road offers a rangier, more agreeably-timbred take on Robbie Williams.
