Agreed. And there was too much blatant foreshadowing. Carmichael staring at things and shutting stuff down with Ted blatantly calling out who H is to make me second guess my guess.
despite the no comment it did seem to hold my attention
My prediction is that Hastings will go to that guy who was always on his case who got shafted. The one who's always in the room with that woman telling him he's lost his job.
He's going to lobby for hastings to interview jo alone in some form (because he's got not much to lose) and hastings will find out who H is.
He could've just said they came from another planet but seems keen to convince people with his bullshit pseudoscience that he knows stuff. I wouldn't trust him with my lunch. - SG

Fwiw. I’m thinking this all may end badly, teeing it up
for one final triumphant season. Steve put on gardening leave, Kate getting demoted, the guy in Spain being not really dead, Hastings having to retire. That kinda ending.
I think that was very brave TV. Not making accusations here, but you can see online that people are claiming it was disappointing that it wasn’t the Chief Constable. But, this is the writer’s story and if they wanted the mundane to shine through and not have the big bad, that’s his call. I liked the small twist and also the swipe at the Police at the end. It’s comparable to Mass Effect - this isn’t the ending I wanted, so it’s shit. I don’t get why people get so invested to the point they start to claim some level of ownership on how it should pan out?
Stop being sensible Syph. I just thought logically it didn’t make sense. And I’ve not been on social. I’m not on facebook and no one talks about stuff on Instagram so this is just my gut reaction.
Spoiler:
Buckles isn’t old enough to be behind stuff going back decades. It was just a bit of a mess story wise IMO.
Like I said mate, not making accusations here. Folk can like or dislike it as they please - and they’ll be lots of reasons a land justifications for their own view. I thought it was smart.
What I guess I don’t like is people saying: H wasn’t X character and therefore it was shit.
I didn't have any expectations on who was or who should've been H, it just felt like a completely flat ending. Gave the impression that it's kinda been left open for another season tbh.
