  • I owned an Amiga 600 back in the day. It was my first "real" console/computer having only previously owned a GameBoy. Oh lawdie the memberberries from that time....Some amazing games.
Here is just a quick list off the top of my head Id love to play again (excluding stuff already mentioned):
    Loom
    Jaguar XJ220
    The Spy Who Loved Me
Dojo Dan (terrible but brilliant platformer)
Charlie J Cool (terrible but brilliant platformer)
    Stunt Car Racer
    F15(or 14??) Strike Eagle 2
    Ruff N Tumble
    Nevermind
Dreamweb (oooooh it had such a reputation)
Elfmania (the beat em up, I think that was the name)
    ATR
William Tell (I don't think it was a major release)
    Batman

    Probably loads more Im forgetting.
I don't think Ill pick one up full price anyway. Id have no time at all to even unbox it Id say, never mind play it and pop it full of sideloaded stuff.

Remember when I had Body Blows but couldn't load it because there was no disk 1, just something called boot. WE GOT THERE IN THE END

I had a coat with an inside pocket that was just big enough to hold a few disks, making me the most conspicuous pirate ever as I fiddled for the goods while everyone waited.

When we asked if we could play on the computer during breaks at primary school, our teacher always corrected us with ‘work on the computer’. Sure, if Granny's Garden qualifies. Valiant Turtle was best.

    Lol!

Back in the day, my earliest experience with a computer was with a BBC Micro which was used to run a collection of Frogger rip-offs, masquerading as official Road Safety / Green Cross Code teaching materials.

I can't find them on Google though.

  • I was considering it but then I already have a Raspberry pi 4 running amiberry which does everything the same but without the cool case. Plus it has lemmings which is sort of the whole point of an Amiga.

  • Apparently it's Amiga day. Amazon says it's out for delivery
  • Downloaded the Loader stuff to put on the USB. Turns out they give you Citadel as well.
  • It's here

It's tiny. That keyboard would be unusable even if it was real.

  • It’s really cute.
  • Gave a few games a go.
Side loading is easy enough although it only supports WHD packs not disk images currently.

The preinstalled games indicate what controls work on them mouse/keyboard/controller and some have been refined too. Obviously with sideloading you are on your own.im not one for being able to spot the finer points of emulation but so far things seem decent.

Only real gripe is the same as all these minis, cabled controllers in modern living rooms.

Yeah, I'll let them off not making it functional, now I'm seeing pictures of the unit's size.

Any of the 8bitdo pads a possibility?

Talking of the pad, is it decent? I'm not that familiar with the Amiga range, is it also based on the actual pad for the 500? Looks like the CD32 pad to me.

Based on the CD32 because it never had its own, right?

I think most people used MD pads, with some modifying their pinouts to get A working.
  • Didn't a work as space bar? I seem to remember that.

There was an article in retro gamer on the pad, it's based on the cd32 but only in an at a glance manner. When you see them side by side, the differences are more obvious.

  • It’s sort of based on the CD32 pad but there are a couple of differences - there’s an extra button and the button zone is rotated by 90 degrees.

I’d say either the pad is bad or the games are designed to somehow purely work with a joystick. There’s something slightly off.

It's up there on the least aesthetically pleasing controller table, that's for sure. Not the worst (hello, PS3 prototype banana pad), but not the best either (hello, [insert your favourite controller here]).

  • It's not too bad to use tbh.
It's quite small. My palms don't actually touch it. A bit like Snes pad really.
I think the CD32 pad was bigger

  • I've put mine away now until I move.
I think a keyboard and a joystick are going to have to he bought for it.
