I wouldn't think so, but better to get games now and then more games next week rather than half the amount of games next week only?
For the sake of a week, surely it's worth it?

Think my HDD is on the way out. Making crackly noises when reading, slow to load and stuttered a couple of times on an intro movie. Any maintenance in safe mode worth trying or is it just an inevitable failure and I should be looking towards next gen?

Nah,I'm past putting that much effort into it. It's a nearly full 500GB and only really has PS+ stuff on it. I'm thinking if it goes tits up I'll just use it as an excuse to upgrade.

Lay it flat instead of on its side and noise seems to be gone.
Still a bit paranoid though.
Would it be wrong to flog it?? In fairness,it is working perfectly. I just don't know how long for. It's also entirely possible there's nothing wrong with it at all!

Work colleague of mine asked me which are the best multiplayer games on PS3, competitive or co-op. He's been playing GTAV with friends but they are starting to get bored of it. I haven't played much online, so I could only suggest Team Fortress 2 or Uncharted 2/3. Anyone have any better suggestions?
Maybe a Souls game? Think Demon's (last time I checked) online population is a bit sparse so Dark or Dark 2 might make for a nice change of pace for your workmate.
I've mentioned all that have been suggested and also Red Dead Redemption. I played that online some time ago with a couple of friends and a few of the shoot outs were great fun.
Might get Ghosts n Goblins for nostalgic purposes. Heads up to anyone who ever wanted to try it - but were too scared or something - Demon's Souls is now scandalously cheap!
