Had a go at this during our work night out tonight. We’ve a had a ‘difficult’ project recently where we commissioned an illustrator and everything they came up with was shit.
Gave the same brief (boiled down to a few words) to each of the AI image generators. All were better than the real-life illustrator has delivered. Best was this one, which I got from the Mage link in this thread.
Not entirely related but Google Photos made a collage for me today called 'Tasty treats' which included various pics of birthday cakes, desserts and one picture of our rabbit.

There is beauty here and mystery. I'm not against AI imagery from an aesthetic point of view but there may well be someone claiming it's there's and they well may be right. AI works in mysterious ways and some of that might be plain copying. Or maybe not.
At first glance I definitely thought it was some kind of composite of a real photo of someone standing in front of a canvas, with the AI image being 'shopped onto it. The lighting, depth of focus, and the textures are quite something.
Wait a second... I've spent a decade waiting for someone to upload a decent portrait of Taylor Swift in the style of Baldur's Gate... and it turns out you can just politely ask a robot and it'll draw you a bunch of them for you in a couple of seconds???
Oh well looks like I'm playing 1 & 2 again this year before 3 drops.
When you got movies like Tom Cruise in them, you can't lose
