There's a certain truth to this. There's a lot to be said for being happy with what you do as well. If it's a job you really hate it's going to take a lot of cash to make you stay (and even then - the best job offer I had was to go work in the states. No fucking chance would I move to the us)
But we all have them bills to pay as well and I know one person who worked one of the hardest, shittest chef role for 10 years but got paid insane money. He was able to leave having paid off his mortgage and secured a solid nest egg. As much as I admired his resolve, I could not do that.
