Er he becomes darth Vader
• Yeah but did it have to be Greedo.
• Oh is it that greedo? I thought greedo was a type of alien.

Yeah. He really was such a little prick.
His life was ruined by bullying and paranoid schizophrenia after the film, so at least he got his just desserts, yeah? Yeah?? Are you happy now?
Is that true? I was unsympathetic but then I realised he was in Jingle All the Way too. That redeems him.

Yeah I dont get why actors are targetted for this kinda thing. Same with the woman that played Rose Tico in TLJ. Its not the damn actors fault!

Apparently so.
Greedo is a Rodian. It isnt the same fat Rodian that is in the rest of the movie and is friends with Anakin.
• i never really got the hate for the kid. yeah he's a bit annoying, but A: he's a child actor so cut some slack, and B: look at how every other actor is directed to perform in this, they're all about as emotive and natural as a plastic potato.
also from when my kids watched the film when they were younger, they liked him more than anyone else.

Jar-Jar Binks man had to faff about with a giant rubber Jar-Jar head stuck to him in the desert while they filmed Phantom Menace and then the extreme negative reaction to the film almost drove him to suicide. Sad times all round.

Kid certainly had problems, but to be specific the bullying was at school and from the press. He also appears to have long term serious mental health issues that may have come from being in the spotlight as a young kid, but are possibly likely to have been there and maybe a rise and fall in fame could have exacerbated things. From Wiki...

In 2012, Lloyd explained that his decision to retire from acting in 2001 was due to bullying at school and harassment by the press, both in response to his role in The Phantom Menace.[6][8][9]
In March 2015, police responded to an alleged assault by Lloyd on his mother Lisa Riley. In a statement to the Indianapolis Metro Police Department, Riley alleged Lloyd arrived at her house and began verbally berating her. He then progressed to physically assaulting her, but she declined to press charges, revealing that Lloyd had been diagnosed with schizophrenia and was not taking his medication at the time.[10]
On June 17, 2015, Lloyd was arrested in South Carolina under the name Jake Broadbent for reckless driving, driving without a license, and resisting arrest; he failed to stop for a red light, which initiated a high-speed police chase.[11][12][13] At a hearing on June 22, his bail was set at $10,700.[14] On June 23, Lloyd's mother stated to TMZ that he has schizophrenia and that "the family plans to try and get him help again [...] once he's released from jail".[10] Lloyd was not released on bail.url=https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_needed]citation needed[/url
In April 2016, after being held for 10 months awaiting trial in Colleton County Detention Center, Lloyd was transferred from jail to a psychiatric facility due to his schizophrenia diagnosis.[15][16]
In January 2020, his family issued a statement saying that he has moved closer to his family, and has officially been diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia.[16][17]

I'm pretty certain me moaning to my missus and mates at the time and fifteen years later moaning on a gaming forum had no impact on his life.
• Thats just nuts, Id say the life of a child actor is strange enough without getting that shite on top.

If anything go after George Lucas. Midichlorians???? Get fucked George!!!

• Yeah its not the kid's fault.
Shouldn't even have been a kid that young really. I think originally Anakin was supposed to be a bit older, maybe early teens.

Which would make sense that he is too old to be trained, falls in love with a woman in her early teens (padme is supposed to be 14 in TPM), then gets upset when he thinks Padme doesn't recognise him at the start of AotC.
• The blame for the prequels is entirely on Lucas. Yet he had nothing to do with the sequel trilogy or disney films.
So proof that there's more than one way to completely fuck with my favourite film series! :)

Have you seen the video that shows when Lucas picks the wee lad? The decision was made without any intelligence at all...Lucas' heart just melts. There were two others in the final draft and they would have been better.

• There's footage of the screen tests for the final potential choices and he really is the worst of the three.
He definitely should have been an older character anyway as you say. I've been thinking of doing a rewatch too. Another lockdown makes you reach for the comfort movies and even if they're iffy they're still comfort the old star war

from back when star wars was still great....a preview trailer for Empire Strikes Back with Harrison Ford doing the VO. i've never seen it before.
Looks a mint film, I'm in! :)

• Rogue One
Rizzlekicks bloke. Psycho gun squad murderer from Line of Duty.

Thats that out the way now for the movie.
Like Solo its nice to see OG trilogy Imperial stuff.

There are too many characters in this film and I don't give a fuck about any of them. I can't tell you a single character name in this other than Jin Urso because its said 1000 times. It makes for a flat ending "Many forgettable characters died to bring us this information". The rotot is good I guess. How Bloke has ended up with his own series is beyond me.

It looks good, its entertaining enough, it tells a story that fills in a gap in the tale nicely. Its really hard to say much about it I certainly don't envy anyone who had to review it.

Edit: Oh yeah Tarkin he is in it. I dont mind the CG faces really. They probably should have obscured them some way. Reflections, holograms etc but they didnt. Not the end of the world.

Disney think this pre episode 4 period is ripe for a tv show and Felicity Jones said no.

All I can remember about that bloke is he died at the end on a beach. That’s it. I don’t even know his name.
• He has an accent.
That is what I know about him.
• The movie is such a waste of Riz Ahmed as well.

Is he not Rogue Juan?
Come with g if you want to live...
• Rogue one was ok. It had several elements I liked, Like K2SO, the corridor scene, Jedha was a fantastic new location and I quite liked Krennic. I was not a fan of Chirrut's stupid fucking mantra. Ok dude we get it, shut the fuck up mate. And Saw Gerrera. Snore.

Pretty well done though, better than Solo.

I think I prefer Solo of the two. That could be because Emilia Clarke mind.

Rogue One is perfectly fine. Like I say it looks great and that is sets, costumes, CG, direction the lot. I think I would actually rather play it as a game.

This came up on twitter today and it is insane because I've never heard that particular actor be so excited in any role ever during the voice over.

There's a lengthy YA book covering Jyn's life prior to Rogue One. Basic jist of it is "don't worry, she didn't die a virgin!"

Solo was OK. Not one for a rewatch.
Rogue 1 is my pick of the whole lot of the recent phase but it isnt really saying that much.
