If I handled an actual good length RPG on OC, having not played one for a while, which should I go for (solo, none played before, all ashtray owned except BG2...):
- BG1 EE
- BG2 EE
- Disco Elysium
- Divinity OS 1
- Divinity OS 2
The Enhanced editions tidied them up a bit though. They may lack the polish of Div 2, but the story is superb. I refuse to take my +1 rose-tinted glasses off over this one.
It wasn't until I hit my thirties that I realised you could unlock rewards by exploring the map
Installed WoW to check out the Shadowlands pre-patch. Had to uninstall though as it was too good. I've to be very careful these days about getting sucked into looty games. Just due to personal life stuff. However, if you have the free time available I would recommend checking it out. The new starter island is very well done and looks great.
Disco Elysium is on sale so I've finally jumped in.
I'm only half an hour in but the writing is absolutely brilliant and the freedom of choice seems like a breath of fresh air.
It feels like something new and different, like when you played games as a young 'un and the possibilities seemed endless. We all know how fleeting that is nowadays.
Definitely one of the very best rpgs out there, totally different to everything else. I was very sad to finish it as it was a regular dose of entertainment and there's nothing to replace it. One of the few rpgs where I looked at everything and spoke to everybody, purely because of the quality of the writing. An rpg with no combat is a brave thing too.
Grabbed Iron Danger from Humble last month. Some Guy was over today and gave it a good run. Very Clever fight system. Reckon it'd be worth a crack for Those needing stuff between/around Bs3 etc.
Cracked and bought Baldur's Gate 3 on GoG. Credit card will take the strain. Annoyingly it's taking forever to download, it was much faster when I torrented the damn thing.
Report back on how you get on Kow. I liked it greatly but playing on a laptop keyboard was difficult (camera espically) also some of the lighting was too dark for the screen.
Stopped playing it for the moment and will return when it's out of EA
Well I was playing a cracked version for a while and it was running fine. It was obviously unfinished, especially in cutscenes and dialogue, but otherwise it was perfectly playable. I didn't have any problems with darkness.
