I found the CD the other day and ripped it right away. It's fun and it brings so many memories. I wonder if it was one of the first console games to come with a CD?
No idea why it has taken me so long to realise that I work better from home when I have music on in the background.
Lately been through an entire 4-disc classical collection. Now listening Super Mario 3D World - I do like this soundtrack. It's no Galaxy but it's still a belter.
Was watching someone play Shinobi X on Youtube earlier, as it's quite high up my 'I wish I'd played that' list (despite the visuals). The guy was going on about how the Richard Jaques PAL score is miles better than the Jpn original, then went on to describe it as the best game music ever, placing it on a pedestal above Revenge of Shinobi (and SOR2), so I thought I'd check it out. I've dabbled, and rather than weigh in with a classic Elf 'oh no it isn't' I thought I'd share the title screen music.
+10 for the primo placements of the kung fu 'WHA!' noise. Top comment is good too.
Actually jaw dropping to me at points. It's exactly the type of cover it needed, imo. Sits behind daytona guy as my fave Sega music vid now, the highest of praise.
I really don't know if I'd go to a more symphonic game music concert, but I'd definitely pay good money to see them live. The joy I'm getting from that vid, seriously. Talent is off the fucking charts.
More 8 bit big band, because this tune has been rattling around my head for days. This is wonderful.
The joy in her vocals, the wonderful main melody through the horns, everyone just loving what they're doing. Seeing talent like this, enjoying what they do, elevating a song I already loved, honestly makes me emotional. I'm so glad they exist.
Also, thanks to a youtuber guy I follow I've been dipping in and out of the Armored Core 6 ost. Now I don't have any real urge to play it, I know the mech mgmt and fromsoft gameplay will be too leet for me, but damn, that's a stunning set of songs. Atmosphere for days.
