It's a decent campaign, but instead of having online competitive MP, they included a score attack Echoes mode to get the most out of the Skillshots mechanic. I'd play the campaign blind, spend a bit of time playing Echoes, then return to the campaign at a higher difficulty and you'll see a different game to when you first played it.

Had an hour with Mamoru Kun on PS3. An odd little game, will have to give it more time. It hasn't immediately grabbed me. Other than the insanely annoying 'story mode' each level is selected individually like Child of Eden, so it seems like you could have your Mamoru fix just by playing the 3 level demo.

yeah, it's a toughie alright. Not quite sure tbh - I remember a couple of run-throughs where I pretty much nailed the stage 1 chain. Aside from that - probably just luck.
Yeah, I'm leaving it alone until perhaps a sale. Even then, only if it's less than £5. I know Cave shmups are technically good value for money as I play them so much, but it all stacks up.
