Finished Jojolion recently, hope he can squeeze out a part 9, somehow. Though scenario-wise, I don't really know where you go from "posh fruit growing family business fends off mysterious assaults by silicon-based lifeforms". Anywhere he likes, presumably.
Has there been a good live action anime adaptation?
Blade of the Immortal was on Channel 4 recently. It was on late, so I didn't watch the whole thing.
It's based on a manga, not an anime, but I didn't know that at the time.
The 2/3rds I watched was solid. Gory, but entertaining. Reminiscent of Ninja Scrolls. :]
I'm pretty sure there are other good adaptations out there. The Crying Freeman seemed to make more sense as a live action movie too iirc. But I didn't think too much of the anime, so not sure if I should offer it up.
Also, Old Boy. Which was ok, but overrated. Was a popular manga, and an anime apparently, but I only remember the film.

Oldboy is a classic! I did go see it with my girlfriend for our first date at 18, which seemed like a good idea at the time. But she had a cough and we had to leave (or it was the teeth pulling and she didn’t want to say anything…)
I mean we’re married now so maybe that’s why I have a fondness for it. I really like lady vengeance too. The Handmaiden recently was also very good. Oh and ‘I’m a cyborg’ is brilliant.
Anyone watching Super Crooks on Netflix? Based on the comic by Mark Millar (him of Kick Ass) and three episodes in it's really good, Quite gritty and violent but an interesting premise.
Been reading world trigger and it only comes out once a month so despite not being that great its been something easy to dip into. It's about child soldiers using fake bodies to fight inter dimensional aliens. Pretty standard.
I swear though the last 20 chapters have turned into them just doing homework. Nothing but homework. It's so weird and boring and yet I keep reading it. There's about 50 characters doing homework and I can't remember who anyone is bar the main 3 so it's basically incomprehensible tedium.
Started the Cyberpunk: Edge Runners Anime on Netflix yesterday and it's really rather enjoyable. Definitely gets the tone and visuals of the game exactly right. It's rather violent but I'm enjoying the story and the visuals and the action.
