I've now got two piles of shame. Using this thread to try to keep track of them.
One is the Gamepass pile, which contains at least a dozen games I want to play or finish at some point/before they potentially drop off (Norco, Prodeus, Plague Tale Requiem, Metal Hellslinger, You Suck At Parking, Umurangi Generation, Beacon Pines, Sniper Elite 5, Superliminal, Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion, Immortality, Pentiment, Psychonauts 2, Road 96, Ghost Song, Halo Infinite, Gears V, As Dusk Falls - obvs a few of those aren't due to disappear).
The other is stuff I've bought that I need to play.
Switch:
Physical:
Fire Emblem Engage (3hrs in)
Triangle Strategy (shrinkwrapped)
Mario Rabbids Sparks of Hope (6hrs in)
Splatoon 3 (1.5hrs in)
EShop sale stuff (deep breath):
Orbital Bullet
Please Don't touch the Artwork
Adventures of Chris
Mahluk Dark Demon (35mins in)
Giana Sisters - Twisted Dreams
Sheepo
Moonlighter
Wunderling DX
In Other Waters
Dicey Dungeons
Sports Story
Blaster Master Zero 3
Creaks
Under Dungeon
Doom 64 (3hrs in)
Pocket Minigolf 2
Struggling
Pocket Pool
Oniken & Odallus
Hidden Through Time
Need For Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered
Pig Eat Ball (1hr in)
Grapple Dog (45mins in)
Call of Juarez: Gunslinger (1hr in)
Demons of Asteborg (1hr in)
Transistor (1hr in but plan to start again)
...plus half a dozen more than I've possibly written off.
PS:
Evil West (shrink wrapped)
Everybody's Golf (hasn't arrived yet)
Xbox:
Crimson Dragon (2hrs in)
Alien Hominid HD
It's approaching 'send help' territory now, and it's not like I don't try to keep up.
Any PUT IT AT THE TOP OF THE PILE shouts welcome of course, I'm between games at the mo (I'm into Fire Emblem but it needs a smaller sidechick).
So, I've decided I'm going to seriously curb my game purchase in 2024 and get through my pile of shame. It's bigger than this list but this is what I'm going to tackle, in no particular order.
PC
Baldur's Gate 3 Persona 4 Golden
Alan Wake (ready for when the sequel hit's PS Plus next year)
Steamworld Heist
Cyberpunk 2077
Doom Eternal
Emily is Away
Shogun Showdown Slay The Princess
The Talos Principle II
The Expanse
Enshrouded
PS5
Ghost of Tsushima
Kena Bridge of Spirits
Sea of Stars
Horizon Forbidden West
Spider-Man Miles Morales
The Callisto Protocol
Tchia
Horizon Call of The Mountain
Resident Evil Village
Elden Ring (I really should finish it, but it's been so long)
Moss
Moss Book II
Resident Evil 4
FFVII Intergrade Yakuza: Like A Dragon
Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth
Hasn't helped that I've been adding faster than I've been playing, partly thanks to retro devices. Knocked these off my previous list anyway (all finished), will check the recent additions later.
Orbital Bullet Please Don't touch the Artwork Adventures of Chris Sports Story Mario Rabbids Sparks of Hope (6hrs in) Splatoon 3 (1.5hrs in) Evil West (shrink wrapped) As Dusk Falls Immortality
This slipped my mind last night so I didn't check my Switch backlog.
I also have the following on cart/disc, all unfinished:
Armoured Core VI - PS5 (2-3hrs played)
Resident Evil 4 - PS5 (20mins played)
Robocop: Rogue City - PS5 (2hrs played)
Pikmin 4 - Switch (90mins played)
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (20ish hrs played solo, maybe 15hrs played pottering around with Tilly)
Metroid Prime Remastered (4hrs played)
Fire Emblem Engage (3hrs....not sure if I'm going back to this one )
Triangle Strategy (still sealed, why did I buy this?)
Over £300 right there. Could've spent that going to see Billie Eilish or something but it's still odd behaviour as I'm not getting through them. In recent years I've always bought 'too much' when it comes to indie sales and probably operate on a rolling 'finish four, buy five' system - that's my main hobby ergo yolo - but that's a lot of physical games I bought either at launch or with minor discounts, and then proceeded to drag my heels with. Having a word with myself.
Super Magbot
Bug Academy (Tilly wanted this one tbf)
Lucah: Born a Dream
Double Dragon IV
Dropsy
Unsighted
Glitch Trip
Neon White
Timespinner (not happy with how crap this one started)
Wild At Heart
The Talos Principle
Sanabi
£62. Wild at Heart, Sanabi (excellent so far) and Neon White were over a tenner each.
And Asterix & Obelix Slap 'em All. Which is actually OK in co-op but fuck knows how they'll manage to pad it out for the 5-6hrs it supposedly takes to finish.
Pile of shame not including some PS4 stuff I'm probably not remembering:
Mario Odyssey
Portal 2
Blasphemous
Elden Ring
Halo
Alan Wake Remaster
Alan Wake 2
Cuphead
Diablo III
Gears of War 4 & 5
Resi 4 remake
TLoU Remaster
TLoU2
Dead Cells
Supermarket Shriek
Jump King
Ori and the Blind Forest
Inside
Not a Hero
Sifu
Meatboy Forever
What the Golf
Will probably play some Slay the Spire tonight instead lolol.
