Film/Video Discussion Thread
  • Bone Tomahawk was enjoyable. Don't think it shifted suddenly as others have said...
    Spoiler:
    3/5

Give an extra .5 if you like that sort of thing.
  • La La Land was very pretty and it was nice to watch something fantastical and fresh but I thought it sagged a little in the middle and the ending was a bit hmmm because

I watched Contact for the first time in December. I think I maybe watched the wrong thing, because I've seen people raving about it, but what I watched was a turd.

It must have been a different film then.

    Contract, maybe?

Can I have a "go" "no go" on Andy knowing anything about films?
  • Split. McAvoy hams it up beautifully. Ropey script. Some tension but then it meanders. And there is a moment as utterly dreadful and bewildering as when Supey and Bats bond over Margaret. Perfectly adequate duel screen fodder but I wouldn't waste your time in a cinema watching it. Oh, and you know you thought Marvel was jumping the shark with post credit nonsense. Just you wait and see....

    Silence

Stunning cinematography. Excellent performances (a few accents aside). Quite possibly the dullest thing I have ever seen.
  • Suicide Squad is definitely worse than Independance Day, probably worse than BatSoup.

    Batsoup gets my vote though.
  • Saw Dirty Grandpa last week, was far from great but the missus wanted to watch, "some no brain shit I don't have to think through, some comedy or something, I don't fucking know". It suited perfectly. 1.5/5 (the .5 is for the crack scene).

At least it isn't half an hour into the credits.

And actually I think it recontextualised the film into a better light.
    Spoiler:
  • STRING LADS! FUCKING STRING!

    much worse than BatSoup

Gerard Butler definitely deserves worst actor for his atrocious performance in the worst film - London has Fallen. I don't think I've seen anything worse in quite a while.

I haven't seen Suicide Squid or Batsoup.

    Seen all 3.
One thing about London has Fallen. At least less money was wasted on it, quite obviously less money, a lot less money.

Christ I forgot about that one.
  • It was a different type of bad to the others.
An awful film but with a plot that could be followed.
  • I feel sorry for that dude they have playing ole Superman these days, cos I reckon he's pretty well cast, but the films are just a shitshow.
Come with g if you want to live...
  • Curse of Superman innit.
No-one plays Supes and has a career afterwards, sometimes they get fucked up by a horse.
Thank god the Nic Cage one fell through.
