Just got out of Midgar and gone through Cloud's story telling bit.
The cheat things they have put in make it much, much more palatable these days.
There are 3 "cheats".
3x speed, speeds up the whole game by 3x and is really useful for speeding up grunt encounters.
Block random battles, not used this too much, only really just on the world map, the risk is I dont level enough but it is good for just getting somewhere liek a save point.
Restore Health, Time and Limit. The full on cheat, used this once to farm money for the Chocobo Lure.
Basically they all cut out the bullshit.
I will definitely pick up the FF8 HD Remaster once done with this and it is released.

One of the additions i remember is a choice to turn all hits into 9999 damage, which is pretty useful if you insist on stealing items from bosses, but then don't want all the hassle afterwards. It also had double and quadruple speed, i think, which when mixed with the damage selection makes grinding levels super quick. I think there's also battles off. I'd have to check the others.

You can purchase or redeem download codes for multiple memberships of the same type (individual or family) to extend your overall membership time. For example, if you purchase an individual membership of any time length when you are already an individual Member, the time will be added on to the end of your current membership period. The remaining time on your account can be increased up to 3 years.
Please note that you cannot combine time from a family membership and an individual membership. You will receive whichever amount of time is longer.
Examples:
If you have 35 days remaining on your individual membership and you purchase an additional 1-year individual membership, your remaining time will be increased to 400 days.
If you have 35 days remaining on an individual membership and you purchase a 1-year family membership, your remaining time will be 1-year - not 1 year plus 35 days. If you are added to someone else's family membership, make sure to adjust your auto-renewal settings appropriately.
