Nice to see Big ol' Tim head back to the Spurs in some capacity.
Imagine any player of his calibre now sticking around with a single team for two decades.
Fascinating times trying to nut out some club wide rules and concepts around motion offense.
Some clubs have a club wide offense that they run, strictly. It's a poor way of doing things, but it does allow for continuity in teaching across seasons and different coaches.
We're trying to angle for a middle ground.
2-3 templates and a few basic rules without completely going by rote.
Slightly frustrating convo with one of my head coaches yesterday.
On the one hand, he's arguing that motion is motion, it's self evident, but then as soon as we dig into what the player passing to the corner in 5 out should do we immediately hit the wall of there's actually any number of options there and at least 3 famous motion offenses that have different rules on what passer should do.
So it's like, yeah, motion is motion, but no, it's not actually self evident and we need to actively make choices.
So... The basketball World Cup is apparently just around the corner, and the US nation team?...
It's a mess. If I had a US passport, I could probably get on that team.
Even the rookies don't want a place.
It will still be one of the bookies favourites, but they're obviously fielding a Coca Cola cup roster... Thought they would have wanted to send a big delegation to China, a huge consumer market for the NBA.
Just finished watching basketball or nothing on Netflix.
About a team on an Indian reservation in Arizona.
Pretty by the numbers, Tbh.
Interesting enough, but a lot unsaid.
Massive elephant in the room is how the fuck the stadium they play in was paid for.
Also kinda frustrating how it's edited. Like nba games where coaches are mic'ed up, they don't put in any of the coach or players talking strategy.
Coach clearly knows what he's on about, came up via some time at ucla, had kareem as an AC on a previous job, so rocks a whole lot of 1-4 high ucla sets courtesy of coach wooden, but all we hear from him is cliches.
Watch NFL during the regular season, dont pay attention to it in it's off season hiatus. However news that Andrew Luck has retired as Colts QB at age of 29 is a suprise. As was gronk retiring after the superbowl aged 29 as well. Tom Brady is in his 40s and still going though....
Canada Vs Straya' should be the first big match of the world cup. All the other matches played so far looked like practice games, judging by the scores.

Been catching the highlights. Spain look very strong early on. Annoying not to find a free outlet for the games. Was hoping to watch a few live matches and learn something.

If you can get your cc to register and you have vpn, kayo and dazn should both be good. (kayo only does 14 day trial, so would need to time for finals.)
Dazn does a month free. So if you can login via Canada you should be good.
Fair way through rise and fire. A book all about the jump shot. Really interesting.
Just got up to a chapter in shooting coaches nd got reminded of Paul hoover from pro shot. Twas a youtube channel that had a lot of great stuff.
Some time a few years ago, the guy who'd been doing the vids just ghosted. New presenter, no sign of old guy.
2 options, dodgy business dealings or child abuse, were the options that came to mind, however, didn't see anything with quick Googles back then.
Decided to check again today after he appears in this book (from 2015).
Frustratingly, I can't get pages with info to load, but it looks like it was the latter. Dudes name. Is paul hoover. Can someone try and google him (need to specify basketball coach)
