The bit in the Greenpath where you have to use the slash dash thing to head left over three spiked hurdles. Hopping up the wall to get the right height to dash over the spiked top was awkward as fuck (I assume it'd be easier with a double jump but I've not found one), and then it transitions into a spot of the pogo shite. All for the reward of a nail art which is borderline useless unless you fancy running, jumping and dashing about with a button held down to keep it ready. It's fiddly.

Swore at this section many times yesterday. The very last jump is a nightmare and I never did it. Realised I could use the

ability for the last 4 bouncy things. In fact you can use it for the entire section. So I could have sworn approximately 14 times less if I had half a brain.

Interested in La mulana 1 and 2 but intimidated by the reviews.
But then again I also persevered with Dark Souls and Hollow Knight.

Certainly get #1. The difficulty is not in fighting monsters it's in solving puzzles to make progress. So it's different to DkS and HK. A pen and paper is recommended to make notes of the plentiful clues (although the word clue is a bit of a misnomer for some of them).

Took the Watcher Knights down by pretty much tanking them, they had me pinned down in a corner, could've used my dash to get through but decided to hammer the attack button instead and won through. I think Stalwart Shell made the difference with this approach.

In other news, Grimm is a twat.

Okay, I've taken the bait.
The way people describe la mulana here is like a mash up between metroidvania and old skool adventure gaming.
Not sure if it's my thing but willing to give it a go as I quite liked the promo vid on Steam.

Made I fuck load of sudden progress since I sacked off the jumpy jacks upstairs. Prepare for a spoiler dump, and all this is certainly not in the order I did it as I can't keep track of my confused wandering.

I'm still not enjoying this as much as everyone else seems to be, I don't get on with the map/warp spots as there always seems to be too much traipsing over covered ground for my liking, some resting spots feel like miles away from everything. There's still a pull to go back, so I'll probably finish it (provided I can also git gud).
