In follow up to this from 6 weeks ago, things seemed to be getting better at first, but had more pains again recently. Went for scans today and turns out I have a kidney stone lodged in my bladder canal (or whatever it's called).JonB wrote:Spent a few hours in hospital tonight. Been having harsh pains in my lower right abdomen occasionally over the last couple of days. Similar thing happened a couple of weeks ago and I put it down to a bit of gas/constipation. Tonight it came back strong and didn't seem to want to go so we headed off. Some blood tests, an x-ray, a drip and an enema (!) later and it seems likely it was down to a bit of gas/constipation. Maybe IBS if it keeps happening. Not quite what I had planned tonight.

@tin_robot Well, I have been told about it now. Got the full report back from the scan and it's 8mm*4mm. A big baby.tin_robot wrote:Kidney stones are, supposedly, the worst pain you can have. Though as you've discovered, in most cases the treatment is a small truckload of painkillers, and wait until you manage to pass the stone. (If the stone is really large then they use high frequency soundwaves to smash it up, or sometimes resort to surgery - but I would expect that if yours was of that size, you would have been told about it by now.)
Pusa 1121 is an essentially derived variety evolved through the process of hybridization over a long breeding process. The variety of basmati rice was developed by Padma Shri, Vijay Pal Singh and his student Ashok Kumar Sarial. This variety of rice is known for its extraordinary kernel (grain) length, which can be as much as 8.2 millimetres (0.32 in) for a single grain, the longest-ever known released cultivar in the world.
