There's going to be Dead Cells race in the next Awesome Games Done Quick. Should be a fun watch. I'm guessing they'll all be running off the same generation seed so it's the same world.
Got a feel for this now, to an extent. 5 deaths, just got my arse handed to me by a boss on a bridge. Thought it was going okay but all of a sudden I'd used both my potions and my brink of death revive thing. I could like this, we'll see. Is there an actual ending sequence/credits roll if you ever finish a run?
33 cells lost when it felt like I was close to reaching another area. That's probably infinitesimal fry for the old hands, but ack. I like this quite a bit actually, despite my trepidation over the last few months. It's the non super roguey stuff that I appreciate (aside from the general cut and thrust of the action, which is great) - banking orbs/locking in abilities and the hanging jar room at the beginning. More questions - what's the benefit of the shield if you've got your dodging down. Parrying to stun? I take it that's more of an expert thing as I'm not sure I'd fancy being without my bow at this stage.
Bows and such (support weapon stuff)? Just over an hour played so far, so I'm wading in the noob zone. Red seems to be close quarters combat, green I'm not sure about yet as I haven't seen anything with green borders in my kit bag.
I've paused this in frustration with myself as I just spent 5 seconds standing still staring at a door, wondering what kind of door it was, before realising it was one of the timed ones when the timer ran out and it locked.
The torch is good! Mostly because the damage over time from fire damage is really OP and it synergises really well with both brutality and survival builds.
Took me at least that many times so you're as shit as me, which is really very shit. I'm at the stage where I've no more blueprints to unlock so I'm playing until I die at or shortly after the first boss and losing all the cells I've collected. 55 last night.
