I was going to say something along those lines. There's often too much confusion between an involving story - which is achievable, particularly in games, by being a bit shit but long - and a good one. There are still very few good ones in games, it's just people are getting the hang of making involving ones more.
T2 plays to its strengths very well IMO. It doesn't have anything interesting to say, so instead it cashes it all in on the basics: Big robots, detestable villains, a big Sci-Fi macguffin, etc
Yup. Didn't take itself too seriously either, which is a sure-fire way to fuck up things like that. Hell, I think I might have even smirked at the dialogue a couple of times.
