I've rarely experienced game breaking bugs. I think I had a Halo save with me falling from a cliff once. Having said that, I had a big one in Rime this week - an entire area didn't generate, or whatever the word is, leaving me stumbling around in complete darkness for ages until I realised it was just too shit to be an actual find-the-path puzzle and reloaded the checkpoint.
I had a Halo auto save where I hardly had any ammo and there were 4 heavily armed Elites right in my face. Had to reload whole chapter after scores of frustrating deaths. Turns out it was the last battle of the level. Cunts.
Broken Sword on the GBA. There was a puzzle that was unsolveable if you hadn’t done things on the right order. Something about a goat. And only one save slot. I couldn’t be fucked with starting again so I binned it.
I think the only one I've had was skyrim where I burnt the book I was suppose to get or it went through a wall or something. I could just reload in that instance. Even if I couldn't, I'd have still managed to give an assessment of the game without the particular circumstances of my playthrough completely clouding it. Especially if it was my profession and hundreds of thousands of people were interested in it.
I'm sure I neglected to collect something I needed from Shenmue disc 1 that I needed on disc 2 or something and I couldn't progress further, so just 20 hours of aimless wandering, martial arts practice and gacha buying, I stopped playing.
(it's very likely user error not a bug, but I still get annoyed when I think about it)
It's such a natural fit for switch.. Pity.. I own the HD PS3 and couldn't get past the fuckgin turnip mini game.. even though I managed it no problem on PS2.
